Sil Lum Tao
Sil Lum Tao means little idea or small thought. This pillar teaches the fundamental
hand movements of the Wing Chun system.
Chum Kil
Chum Kil means bridging the gap. Footwork is the primary concern of the Chum Kil
pillar. The Chum Kil form teaches the practitioner to have the proper coordination of hand movements, learned in Sil Lum Tao,
along with the footwork of Chum Kil.
Bil Jee
Bil Jee means thrusting fingers. In the Chum Kil pillar, the student had to maintain
central line; but Bil Jee teaches how to regain the central line when it is lost
.
Muk Yan Jong
Muk Yan Jong means wooden
man dummy. There are 108 movements in the Muk Jong form. This form will bring all the hand positions from Sil Lum Tao, the
footwork of Chum Kil, and the recapturing techniques of Bil Jee to be performing together on the dummy.
