Greenbelt Labor Day Parade - 2009

This page gives the latest information available about the 2009 Greenbelt Labor Day Parade, which will be held on Labor Day, September 7, 2009. Parade participants are encouraged to check this page for their position in the parade. Adjustments in parade order and entrants may be made up through the day before the parade, so be sure to check this list late the evening before or even early in the morning prior to the parade.

The parade starts promptly at 10am. Please be in position no later than 9:30am. You may arrive as early as 8:00am - and are encouraged to line up between 8:00am and 9:00am.

You may park your car at Buddy Attick park. However, if the parking lot fills up, you will need to park in the neighborhoods up Ridge Road and Lastner Lane off of Crescent Road. If you are driving in from outside old Greenbelt, you will need get to Crescent Road via Kenilworth Avenue. You will not be able to drive west on Crescent Road from the center of old Greenbelt.

If you have a group that is walking in the parade, you are encouraged to meet up at Buddy Attick park and then walk from there to your line up position.

Check the table below for your group's parade position. The parade position number corresponds to a marked position on Crescent Road between Greenhill Road (at the Baptist Church) and Lastner Lane. The positions are marked by number on eleven power poles starting at Lastner Lane (#1), followed by multiples of ten (#10, #20, #30, #40, #50, #60, #70, #80, #90) up to #100 at Lastner Lane. For example, position number 53 is about a third of the way between the power poles marked #50 and #60.

If you can find your group's parade position in the table below, you may go directly to the corner of Lastner Lane and Crescent Road and give your parade position number and group name to the parade Marshall at that location. You may then proceed directly to the area of your parade position. Check with the parade Marshall nearest to you parade position for final positioning (there may be some last minute minor adjustments in positioning).

If you forget your group's parade position, or can't find it in the table below, please check in with the parade Marshall at the entrance of Buddy Attick Park. This parade Marshall will help you figure out your parade position.

Please send any questions or concerns about the parade order to GreenbeltLaborDayParade@verizon.net.

(NOTE: Some groups - e.g., with small children or elderly participants may enter at other specified locations as noted in the Table)
