The John Paul Jones Birthplace Museum
The Dumfries and Galloway region of Scotland is home to the birthplace of this great American Naval hero. The St. James Chapter has been involved with this project since its inception in 1991. Chapter donations include all of the flags with replacements as needed and selected antiques of the period. The chapter donates funds annually to the Trust and assists with fund-raising projects and publicity for the Trust. Click on the link above for more information on the Birthplace Museum.
The Ulster American Folk Park/ Centre for Emigration Studies
The Centre, located in Northern Ireland, received chapter donations of NSDAR and other genealogical materials for its library. We exchange newsletters to stay in contact.
The NSDAR Museum
The St. James Chapter adopted two English samplers for acquisition and one for conservation. One is by Sarah Herbert (1793), one is unsigned but dated 1728, and English Sampler:1690 by Mary Cooper was adopted for conservation. We are the first Units Overseas Chapter to contribute to this museum programme.
Silver donations; two George III salts bowls, 1760; silver pepper pot by George Hindman, 1775; late George II punch ladle with a turned wooden handle, 1727, were donated in 2002.
Friends of Benjamin Franklin House
The St. James Chapter makes an annual donation to this charity for the preservation of the last remaining European home of Benjamin Franklin. Chapter members are invited to attend events organised to celebrate and to benefit Benjamin Franklin House.
