In January of 2007 I started out on a personal journey to read 52 books by the end of the year. Along the way, I bought a copy of The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gegory. That began my current love affair with King Henry VIII of England and the rest of the Tudor clan. If you I have chosen to develop this site to share my passion for the Tudors and to continue to learn more about them myself. If you know nothing about the Tudor Dynasty, this is the site for you. I hope that you enjoy learing about them as much as I have.
If you have been involved with them longer or more deeply then I have been, I would really appreciate your input. I want to make this the most fun and accurate place to get Tudor information.
What You'll Find
This site consists of four types of information: the Tudor family tree, the Tudor scandals, the Tudors in fiction, and the Tudors in film. You can navigate to each section using the navigation map on the right or by clicking on the links provided. I hope to continue to build upon this site as I learn and experience more.
Cast of Characters
The Cast of Characters section provides a short biography on each major member of the Tudor family. When a family member was assocaited with a scandal, a link is provided to the Notes on the Scandals section. Additionally, links are provided to major works of fiction and film associated with each family member.
Notes on the Scandals
The Notes on the Scandals section lists the major players in the Tudor Dynasty who may not have been Tudors by blood but played a major role in shaping those years. Currently, this page has detailed information on Thomas Howard, 3rd Duke of Norfolk, and Robert Dudley, 1st Earl of Leicester. When this page is finished, there will be links from each major player to any books or films in which they are featured.
The Tudors In Fiction
The In Fiction section provides a list of each of my favorite Tudor books by author. For each book, a list of Tudors and major players is provided as well as a link to my thoughts and opinions. If the book has been made into a film, I have provided a link to more information about the movie.
The Tudors In Film
The In Film section provides a lists any major films or made for TV movies that have been created to tell one of the many stories there are to tell about the Tudors. I have provided reviews of each that I've seen and information about those that I have not. The most exciting feature of this page are movie trailers and streaming video from the movies when they are available. In the future, I will be providing links to professional movie reviews as well.
