I have 19 years experience as a broadcast journalist. Most of that time has been spent as a television news producer.
I have also held the titles of Executive Producer and Assistant News Director, though I spent much of that time having to
produce or run the assignment desk on top of my managerial responsibilities. I enjoy field producing (especially for
court cases) and working on special projects. I have attended several seminars and workshops relating to my profession,
including a leadership seminar at the Poynter Insitute in 2002.
I do some work on a freelance basis as a font coordinator for television broadcasts of sporting events.
Usually, the games are shown live. I am most often called to work on broadcasts of college football, college basketball,
and minor league hockey. Over the past 10 years or so, I have also done college volleyball, minor league baseball, college
lacrosse, and women's golf. Because I have a full-time job, this freelance work is usually limited to weekends.
In 2003, I picked up another freelance job as a copy editor. I completed two projects for a company that
publishes compilations of IT research papers. In 2006, I completed one technical writing project for a company that
produces flash cards to be used as study guides for advanced students.
I have a B.A. in English/Written Communications. My junior year of college was spent studying abroad in England.
