This 2004 comedy/drama has an ensemble cast featuring Hank Azaria, Ray Romano, Debra Winger and Piper Laurie.  Mensan Glenne Headly also has a role.

 

The film tells the story of an family whose sometime feuding members gather when the family patriarch dies.  Azaria plays Daniel, who starred in a peanut butter commercial when he was 8.  Now he appears in porn films.

 

Zooey Deschanel is Daniel's daughter, Kate.  It's her job to write the eulogy for her grandfather.  Thing is, about the only thing anyone can remember about the man is that he wasn't around much.  And, sometimes he called them by the wrong names.

 

Overall review:  ****  I'd never heard of this movie before, so I didn't know what to expect.  It turned out to be very funny and engaging.  Chances are, at least one of the characters resembles somone in your own family.  They may be weird, but they're your family, and it's the only one you've got.
