Economics of the House

Sharing Resources

Lil qu'mados ros lil rosa, lil rosa yutsu ulu'l qu'mados. The sea bares the rain, the rain returns to the sea. What belongs to one belongs to all. Unlike the Colnbluthen our kind do not strive for personal glory and the accumulation of material wealth and items. Frostalfar strive for the balance of body and soul in each individual and the community as a whole. We put the House before ourselves, each individual caring for the next creates an unending circle of prosperity and security. We do this, not out of mandate, rule or law. We do this out of nature. We share because it is in our nature to take care of each other. The House does not tithe its members. It doesn't have to. Charity is one of our noblest virtues and as a result all items and money, all armour, and weapons are shared by all. We store items in our vaults for use by all the members. When you need something, go to the vaults and take. When you've grown out of something, repair it and put it back. If you need a new piece of armour or a weapon, request of House Delentsk. Give back however you can.

Working Together

Members of the House seek each other out for hunting, questing, crafting and defending the realm in all instances. House excursions are always lead by either a Rah, the Jabbuk, the Xonathull Senger/Sengress, or other Sengeren/Sengressen and we follow their directives with the strictest obedience. Discipline on the battlefield means the difference between victory and defeat. Anyone unduly disrupting a House function or bringing harm to the House or otherwise acting dishonourably may be sanctioned by the Rahs. Rahs or company leaders also have the final say on grouping with non House members.

Our strength comes from our unity. Our well being is seen to by our fellowship. Never ever turn away another member of the House. If there is a group of eight and a ninth member of the House comes along, split into two groups to accomodate the newcomer.

Keep group leaders informed at all time. If you need to leave or if you are distracted for a few moments, tell the group leader. If you have to log before the group disbands let the group know that you have to turn in soon.

Loot

Three princpals govern how loot is handled by the House. Honour, Charity, and Respect. Loot does not fall to only one member of the group. Items drop to all group members, and the honour system exists such that members are expected to turn in any valuable items to the group leader for distribution. Regardless of whether or not you're in need of an item, turn it in. But, do so, knowing that we take care of our own. This is where Charity comes in. We place need before greed when considering items. If you are in need of anything, notify the Rahs or a Mortath. Lastly, Respect plays a role in considering items. Committed C'rintri and Nobles get first consideration on loot before uncommitted Shebali Initiates. If needed a /random 100 will determine which Shebali or Noble and higher will receive the item. Any unrequested items or other swag are put into the vaults where they may be salvaged or used by other members of the house.

Market Explorer

If a member of the House requires an item that the House cannot immediately provide they are free to look for it on the Market Explorer. But remember that we take care of each other. If it is an item available by quest or combat, ask for help from the House. Schedule a raid. We will certainly help as best we can. Remember to approach the House first before considering a purchase from a Colnbluth. Some times items recovered by Colnbluthen bear the blood of treachery, deceit, and barbarism. You can be sure that items recoverd by the House were done so honourably and honestly.

Houses, Horses and Other Luxury Items

Members of the House are welcome to purchase mounts of their choice. Even luxury mounts if they so choose. Simply keep in mind that it is in our nature to give to others before ourselves. If a member is of clear conscience, knowing they have given generously to their brothers and sisters, and possess the economic resources then by all means. But do not forgo donating to House Delentsk for the sake of a luxury item.

Housing

Traditionally members of QM do NOT own personal houses. Instead we maintain an embassy compound. Norther Mainz in Carlingford on Lamorak has become The Frostalf Quarter. The compound consists of 6 dwellings. Two dwellings are maintained by the House at Large, while the other 4 are maintained by the Noble Houses individually. The Baat'leb serves as the caretakers of these halls.
