Qu'ellar Mithdrathir is a roleplaying guild.   But what does that mean really?

It means, first and foremost that we are a vessel for creativity and imagination and a vehicle for injecting those qualities into the game community at large. What makes us unique is how we go about this. Our theme is our culture, and our practice is our traditions. But what's exciting about being a member is that, as any culture comprised of individuals evolves and grows, so does our culture. Our folk lore is rich and is meant to enhance the game play of any player, whether they heavily RP or lightly RP. If our traditions seem overwhelming, ask questions. Once you get your feet wet and get a grasp of the basic elements everything will begin to make sense and fall into place. We are a chain and are only as strong as each individual link. We are a family, sometimes even better. We treat each other with respect as such.

And, how exactly does one roleplay?

Practically speaking, roleplay is much like acting. In fact, it is "playing a role". Imagine the game were a book or play if you will. The game environment would be the setting, and the characters are you. In this way the game becomes a live-action work of fiction in which you develop the dimensions of your character. Your character is an individual, and you can give as much depth and as many parameters to it as you wish. Using the basic tools provided by the game you have already given your character a name and unique appearance. In the scope of roleplay you can give your character a personality, a personal background, quirks, interests, dreams, talents, fears etc. Develop your game character as you would the character in a book you were authoring. There really is no limit to how deeply you can develop your character's persona. As a roleplay guild, QM gives you still more parameters; an established lore to help you define your character. So you may conceive of your character in individual terms and in terms of being a member of QM and all that entails.
