During a
midway point in the tire manufacturing
process, the "green" (i.e. uncured) tire is
placed in a tire mold. After the mold
closes over the green tire, a rubber bladder
is inflated inside of the tire, causing the
tire to be forced against the inside surface
of the mold. This molding action shapes the
tire into its final form, as well as
imprinting in it the tread design and other
markings.
Tire bladders
have a relatively limited life, and must be
disposed of after their usefulness has been
expended. Curtis TradeGroup is a broker of
scrap tire bladders.
