Written By Regina Brett, 90 years old, of The Plain Dealer,
Cleveland, Ohio
"To celebrate growing older, I once wrote the 45 lessons
life taught me. It is the most-requested column I've ever written.
My odometer rolled over to 90 in August, so here is the column once
more:"
1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.
2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.
3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.
4. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your
friends and parents will. So, stay in touch.
5. Pay off your credit cards every month.
6. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.
7. Cry with someone. It's more healing than crying alone.
8. It's OK to get angry with God. He can take it.
9. Save for retirement starting with your first paycheck.
10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.
11. Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present.
12. It's OK to let your children see you cry.
13. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what
their journey is all about.
14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be in it.
15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye. But don't
worry; God never blinks.
16. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.
17. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.
18. Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger.
19. It's never too late to have a happy childhood. But the second
one is
up to you and no one else.
20. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't
take no for an answer.
21. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy
lingerie. Don't save it for a special occasion. Today is special.
22. Over prepare, then go with the flow.
23. Be eccentric now.. Don't wait for old age to wear purple.
24. No one is in charge of your happiness but you.
25. Frame every so-called disaster with these words ''In five
years, will this matter?".
26. Always choose life.
27. Forgive everyone everything.
28. What other people think of you is none of your business..
29. Time heals almost everything. Give time, time.
30. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
31. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
32. Believe in miracles.
33. God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything
you did or didn't do.
34. Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.
35. Growing old beats the alternative -- dying young.
36. Your children get only one childhood.
37. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.
38. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.
39. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone
else's, we'd grab ours back.
40. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
41. The best is yet to come.
42. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
43. Yield.
44. Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift.

Thanks Jack and many others who sent me this.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE.
Twas the month before Christmas
When all through our land
Not a Christian was praying Nor taking a stand. See the PC Police
had taken away, The reason for Christmas - no one could say. The
children were told by their schools not to sing, About Shepherds and
Wise Men and Angels and things.
It might hurt people's feelings, the teachers would say
December 25th is just a ' Holiday '. Yet the shoppers were ready
with cash, checks and credit
Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it! CDs from Madonna,
an X BOX, an I-pod Something was changing, something quite odd!
Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa In hopes to sell books by
Franken & Fonda. As Targets were hanging their trees upside down
At Lowe's the word Christmas - was no where to be found.
At K-Mart and Staples and Penny's and Sears You won't hear the
word Christmas; it won't touch your ears.
Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-si-ty Are words that were used to
intimidate me. Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen
On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton ! At the top of the
Senate, there arose such a clatter To eliminate Jesus, in all public
matter. And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith
Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace The true Gift of
Christmas was exchanged and discarded
The reason for the season, stopped before it started.
So as you celebrate 'Winter Break' under your 'Dream Tree'
Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me.. Choose your words
carefully, choose what you say Shout MERRY CHRISTMAS, not Happy
Holiday !
Please, all Christians join together and wish everyone you meet
MERRY CHRISTMAS Christ is The Reason for the Christ-mas Season!

THE LAW IS THE LAW!
I really love this one
This is one of the better e-mails I have received in a long time!
I hope this makes its way around the USA several times over!!!!!
So Be It!
THE LAW IS THE LAW
So " if " the US government determines that it is
against the law for the words "under God" to be on our
money, then, so be it.
And "if" that same government decides that the
"Ten Commandments"
are not to be used in or on a government installation, then, so
be it.
I say, "so be it," because I would like to be a
law abiding US citizen.
I say, "so be it," because I would like to think that
smarter people than I are in positions to make good decisions.
I would like to think that those people have the
American public's best interests at heart.
BUT, YOU KNOW WHAT ELSE I'D LIKE?
Since we can't pray to God, can't Trust in God and cannot post
His Commandments in Government buildings , I don't believe the
Government and its employees should participate in the
Easter and Christmas celebrations which honor the God
that our government is eliminating from many facets of American
life.
I'd like my mail delivered on Christmas, Good Friday,
Thanksgiving & Easter. After all, it's just another day.
I'd like the" US Supreme Court to be in session on
Christmas, Good Friday, Thanksgiving & Easter as well as
Sundays." After all, it's just another day.
I'd like the Senate and the House of Representatives to not have
to worry about getting home the for "Christmas Break."
After all it's just another day.
I'm thinking that a lot of my taxpayer dollars could be saved, if
all government offices & services would work on Christmas, Good
Friday & Easter. It shouldn't cost any overtime since those
would be just like any other day of the week to a government that is
trying to be "politically correct."
In fact....
I think that our government should work on Sundays (initially set
aside for worshipping God...) because, after all, our government
says that it should be just another day....
What do you all think????
If this idea gets to enough people, maybe our elected officials
will stop giving in to the "minority opinions" and begin,
once again, to represent the "majority" of ALL of the
American people.
SO BE IT...........
Please Dear Lord,
Give us the help needed to keep you in our country!
'Amen' and 'Amen'
Touché!
These are definitely things I never thought about but from now
on, I will be sure to question those in government who support these
changes.
