Hello Jason, I am so sorry and saddened to hear about Mary’s untimely death. Ironically just this week someone from The Doe Fund called me in order to contact Mary for housing opportunities on her behalf. I gave them your name and telephone numbers so they would get in touch with Mary.

Roberto C.

HUNTERSMOON HALL
2612 Broadway, New York, NY  10025
T:  212-678-1489
F:  212-678-1493

Note: Mary moved into Huntersmoon Hall on 9/18/2006. She vacated her room there on 12/27/2006. The next day (12/28/2006) Mary surrendered herself to the court, and was instantly incarcerated. Thus, Mary never returned to Huntersmoon Hall. (On 01/09/2007 I removed the last of Mary's things from Huntersmoon Hall.)

(Why did Mary voluntarily surrendered herself to the court? She did this in order that the court refund $5000 bail that her friend Gain had posted for her. Because Mary had missed a court appearance, the judge had issued a warrant for Mary's arrest. Gain would have forfeited his bail had not Mary surrendered herself. This shows what incredible integrity Mary had.)

Roberto C was Mary's case manager at Huntersmoon Hall. Like everyone else who knew Mary, he adored her.

Dear Mr. Alpert,   I would like to express my condolences for your loss.  I didn't know Patty (the name I knew Mary Peltzer by), but I did know Tracie. .... I hope it is some comfort to you that the detective informed me that he has submitted Patty's DNA to the national database -- so that if Tracie's remains are found, they will be identified. Should that happen, I assume they will have to contact her father, whom I have not been able to find. But I will do whatever I can to make sure Tracie is laid to rest with her mother.  Tracie adored her mother, and I wish so much that her mother's life had not ended the way that Tracie feared it would.

If for any reason, members of Patty's family are interested in Tracie's case and would like to contact me, please feel free to give them my email address ..... and phone number .....  I spoke with Patty's mother (Emma Loretta Peltzer) on numerous occasions before she passed away, but she never really mentioned much about the rest of the family, except to say that Patty was deeply saddened by Tracie's loss and did not like to talk about her.

Again, I am so sorry for your loss.  If I may be of assistance dealing with the cemetery, please let me know. I still live in Maryland.   --Stephanie Lurz

Thanks so much for helping our friend. I have many great memories of her performing at Mills Tavern in the Village. She wrote 2 great songs: "Santa's not comin this year" and "Autumn Leaves." If I can find copies of the recordings, I will send them. I'm sure I have some VHS tapes of her rehearsing and performing. If I can find any, I will let you know. I worked with John Lennon years ago and am positiver both are performing in that band in the sky.  Peace. Tom Doyle

I wish I could come (to Mary's funeral, see below). I'm out of work. But please keep me in her prayers, as she was a wonderful friend and musician. I miss her smile and her strength.  Peace.  Tommy

Most of you have already received emails from me in which I've discussed plans for a funeral to be held for the late Mary Peltzer (a/k/a Ruby or Patty).

(As you probably know Mary passed away last November.)

Well, the long-awaited date for Mary's ultimate burial has finally arrived.

On Friday afternoon, 07/18/2008, Ackerman's Funeral Chapel in the Bronx telephoned me. They said that they are planning to disinter Mary's remains from Potter's Field next Tuesday morning, July 22, 2008, and to then reinter (rebury) her remains in her plot in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg, Maryland.

People who wish to attend Mary's funeral and interment (burial) should try to be present at Mary's plot in Finksburg, Maryland by about 12 noon on Tuesday, July 22, 2008.

To read the details concerning this (on Mary's web page), please click here.

Please contact me by email or phone this coming Saturday night (July 19th) or thereafter regarding transportation from NYC -- whether you are driving and can take passengers, or whether you want a ride yourself.

My telephone numbers are ....................
Thank you, Jason I Alpert

Dear Jason,
Thank you so much for the update regarding Mary's funeral. Unfortunately, I cannot make the trip down to Maryland on Tuesday, but I am so happy to hear that this has all worked out and that she will finally be laid to rest with her mother and father. I also hope that one day Tracie will be found and can be laid to rest with them, too.
I also want to thank you for all your perseverance and care you put into all of this in order to have Mary buried with her family and removed for Potter's Field. The thought of her left there upset me so. It is because of you and all your hard work and your love for Mary that got her a proper funeral. Thank you so much for all you've done.
You and Mary are in my thoughts and prayers.
