The dream of going to Alaska became reality in July of 2003. While our 11 days there limited our travels to the south-central part of the state, we made the best of it: spending a couple days each in Homer, Seward and Talkeetna; lots of sightseeing in between each; and having a great time visiting relatives near Wasilla.

The weather was also exceptionally warm - high 70's to low 80's almost every day. This is hot considering the norm for south-central Alaska in July is the mid 60's to low 70's. In addition, it was sunny every day, which is unusual, especially along southern coastal towns like Homer and Seward.
