These are some pictures from our 4 hour cruise out of Seward. After about an hour we stopped at Fox Island to eat and then continued on through the islands to the Gulf Of Alaska. Upon approaching the Gulf, we began to spot wildlife (a humpback whale, a school of Pacific white-sided Dolphins, seals, sea lions and all kinds of birds, including puffins).

Looking back at Seward, nestled between the mountains.

Looking through the islands to the Gulf of Alaska.

A humpback whale entering it's dive. We saw this one twice but both times it dove before I could get in position for a shot of anything but the tail.

Several shots of a large school (200 or more) of somewhat rare Pacific Whitesided Dolphins. There were many others off to the right and to the left. In addition, at any given time, more than half of them are under water. Awesome sight to look out and see maybe a hundred of these cresting above the water at any given time. We followed these along for about five minutes before turning back and watching them continue back out to sea..

Closer view. Notice the tops of the mountains above the strip of clouds.

A few sea lions crowd onto a rock.

This low-lying piece of land is a terminal morainne -- debris at the front of a glacier that remained after it receded.
