The US RSK6 Fleet successfully completed its third season in 2009 with over 70 races sailed.

With 18 boats racing out of American YC (Rye, NY) it is the largest 20' sport boat fleet on Long Island Sound. We run high quality one-design races, in a time efficient format, that are open to non-members of AYC, and we also take part in certain YRA and other outside events.

The RS K6 is a 19 foot keelboat conceived and built by Rondar Raceboats in the UK, where it is marketed by RS Sailing. It is the lightest and has less beam than other 20' sportboats.

With an all up weight of just over 600 pounds (nearly 50% is in the keel bulb) the K6 combines the performance of a modern dinghy with the forgiveness of a keelboat. Its simple systems and light loads allow the boat to be raced with a wide range of crews. The simplicity of the boat will be combined with a time-efficient racing program to maximize time on the water.
