MOST VALUABLE PLAYER

 

Jackie Robinson (Brooklyn Dodgers) – In his “rookie” campaign, Robinson led the league in hitting with a .386 average.  He also led the league in hits with 44, and was third in runs scored with 29.  He tied for the team lead on the best hitting team in the game with five homers, and added 17 runs batted in.  To show off his speed, Robinson ranked second in the league with five steals.  Robinson was the catalyst on the best team in the game, and is deserving of the award.

Joe Hatten (Brooklyn Dodgers)Hatten was 7-0 with a 2.45 ERA, and led the team to the World Series.

SILVER SLUGGER (Best Hitter)

 

Ralph Kiner (Pittsburgh Pirates)Kiner ranked fourth in hitting (.368), tied for the lead in home runs (13), and drove in 35 runs.  Kiner also led the league with a .781 slugging average.
