MOST VALUABLE PLAYER

 

Jim Konstanty (Philadelphia Phillies) – As in real life, Konstanty was the most dominating player in the National League.  He anchored an unbelievable bullpen with a 6-0 record, and added six saves.  He held an astonishing 0.63 WHIP, and hitters flailed for only a .121 batting average against Konstanty.

SILVER SLUGGER (Best Hitter)

 

Johnny Hopp (Pittsburgh Pirates) – Hopp was second in the NL with a .383 average, and also ranked second with a .451 on base percentage.  Hopp led the league in slugging (.682) and OPS (1.133).  He stroked 11 doubles, nine home runs, and was one of the lone bright spots on a poor ballclub.
