I encourage people to touch my sculptures to feel that the fur or feathers are actually wood rather than the
real thing. Being anatomically correct is necessary, but equally important is to portray an attitude or personality
in the piece. When it's time to set the eyes in an animal or bird, I believe that I’ve accomplished
my goal when it looks back at me. My sculptures sometimes become my pets.
My husband John & I own and operate a machining service. He is my partner and critic and as a toolmaker, he has a keen
eye and an engineering knowledge sometimes needed with wood sculptures.
I have much more to learn and look forward to every minute.
