These are some links to a few of my favorite websites and/or organizations.
If it's here, it's because I'd like you to visit it and take a look around for yourself.
I highly endorse each one and hope you will enjoy them.
Of course, I have to start with the one I'm most proud to be associated with...
Holiday Express. I
could try to give you a brief description here, but the website does such a better job than I could ever do to give you even
a glimpse into this world. It's a world of caring, of diversity, of sadness, of incredible hope, of endless love, and
all bundled up in 350 people on the road to "bringing the gift of human kindness".
Now how can that be bad?
Some of you may have heard stories of a wonderful club for musician's that thrived from 1968 - 1971
in Asbury Park, NJ. It was started by Tom and Margaret Potter and was called UPSTAGE.
Many local musical luminaries are credited with refining their skills on these stages in the early morning hours, seven
nights a week. Thanks to the inspired heart of Tom Potter's granddaughter, Carrie Potter,
and the talent and passion of award winning filmmaker H. Thomas Jones, the story of this legendary
place is being brought to life in book and film. Please visit Carrie's website to learn about Upstage and get a glimpse
into when it was only about the music!
One of the most talented musician's I know is Andy McDonough. Aside from the fact that there
may not be an instrument created that he can't play, he's also an accomplished songwriter (get away from me, Andy).
He has created a circle of songwriters around him and a website where they can hang their hats. Please
take a look, and watch for when a SongwritersBlock event will be near you. If you like original
music, this is for you!
