Volunteer Schedule 

Volunteers:   Each ski team is required to provide at least one parent volunteer for each 3 team members to assist during the race.  Transportation volunteers do not count.  There are positions for non-skiers.  Usually, these include gate keeper and time keeper low on the course.  Volunteer Positions include; gatekeeper, timekeeper, course maintenance, finish judge, starter, technical delegate, chief of race, chief of course, and more.  Course workers should be at the ski area lodge between 8:00 - 8:15 am, the day of the race.

Girl's Chaperone:  The girls' chaperone will spend the Friday night after practice with the girl's team in Cascade Lodge at Government Camp.  The team will pay for lodging.  The boys' coaches will act as chaperones for their team.  Chaperone to be at Cascade Lodge by 9:00 pm.

Transportation Volunteers:  We need about 14 seats to transport racers on race day.  We only need parents to do this on Saturday race days.    Since course workers need ski area early, providing transportation is easy to do.  Transportation volunteers arrive at Cascade Lodge no later than 7:15 am on race day to take racers to the ski area and then transport skiers back to Tigard after the race.  Volunteers need to have chains or traction tires and ski racks.  Racers may not drive to the mountain for a practice or a race, even if they are 18.

No Show:   Remember!! If you need to make a change it is your responsibility to find a replacement then you must let Karen or Dave Millar know, not later than Tuesday before the race.  The team gets fined $150 if a volunteer does not show up.

There is a possibility that when you get to a race you may need to be reassigned or may not be needed.  Sometimes there are more workers than spots available. Just remember that volunteers run all of Metro.
