What exactly is Sid?

I've been asked, so I'll tell...

Sid is not a pen and ink cartoon in the traditionl sense.
Instead, he, and the rest of the crew, are actually 3D models,
and each comic is a computer rendering.

If we were to peel the layers away,
and go from the deepest layer to the finished model,
this is what Sid would look like,
one layer at a time.
