The Digital Me
Welcome to my little slice of the digital world where you can learn a little about me. I am a Pittsburgh, PA resident; move here a few years ago to pursue my doctorate in physics. Though you may think right now that I am some sort of rocket scientist that wishes to withdraw himself from society in academia, this would be untrue. My true passion is in the challenge and learning new things.
For instance my primary research at the University of Pittsburgh explores the subtle connection between physics and finance. I enjoy analyzing problems in both realms, pushing their solution to the limit, and investigating their relationship. I believe from this many can gain new perspective to their field. Although currently I dwell on physics and finance, I trust I can do it for any field.
Another of my facets, as one may suspect, is this digital world we live in. Much of my recent familiarity revolves around the .net framework and mathematical software such as MATLAB and Maple however I always found comfort in any technology. For example I grew from programming on a Commodore to experimenting with Borland C++ and Microsoft’s MFC. One can only imagine what my curiosity latched onto in the past decades.
My personal life is not much different (and the distinction is usually quite fussy). Usually I am found remodeling my home, finding comfort in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and tiling. As a break from that I have my “true” hobbies of video games or radio controlled helicopters and airplanes. You can read more about these on my hobbies page.
If you are interested in any of these things feel free to contact me be it for advice on my hobbies, tips on coding, or even a career opportunity. I enjoy making new people and sharing knowledge.
