The AAIDD Humanist Action Group has the mission of supplying humanist information on ceremonies and resources that might be  useful to people with and families of people with intellectual disabilities.  The American Association on Intellectual and Developmental DIsabilities (formerly the American Association on Mental Retardation) approved its application in February, 2006. Humanist viewpoints, however, do not necessarily express the opinion of the AAMR and other viewpoints can be accessed through their website www.AAIDD.org
