Welcome!
|
I've
been wanting a way to share some of the gems that arise in classes and sessions, not to mention just navigating
my own part of the universe! This online
journal is yet another way to do that.
My
special interest is in bridging the healing wisdom of east and west. In my experience so far, Chinese medicine,
western allopathic medicine, Tibetan medical practices and Native American practices approach the human condition from
different "windows." We are all seeing the same thing, but describing it from our own particular view. It is exciting to discover
that the "mysterious" phenomenon being described from another window is actually something we see from our own.
In fact, that that other view can give us information not available through our frame. When we can put the
views together: Voila! hologram.
Deb's
Window is not just about visiting other views but is hopefully about entering the dimension where they can
merge into an expanded insight! I'd love to hear from those who think it is as much fun as I do! |

Happy New Year!
I realized in meditation today that when we think we need to create something, we tend to bring into play
its absence first so that it has a background to stand out against. Peace and tranquillity show up well against a backdrop
of drama. Spirituality against whatever deadly sin you want to name. Good against evil, love against fear, kindness against
cruelty, compassion against hatred; all require contrast.
When I "work on building patience" I must have circumstances that try it. If everything comes to me immediately when
I seek it, patience does not exist. If there is nothing to threaten my safety, courage does not exist. If there is nothing
to repulse me, there is nothing requiring that I develop kindness.
So what are we doing here?
What? You though I had the answer?

Laughter and Blood Vessels
Linda Demas sent me a copy of the American Holistic Nurses Association online newsletter
with this link to an article about the benefits of laughter to blood vessels: www.umm.edu/news/releases/laughter2.html
Once again science validates a couple thousand years of practical knowledge:
Fire element/laughter/heart/blood vessels. Two windows merging.

First Entry
Hi, I actually started out with an essay that you can find on the essay page about "What the Bleep" and emotions. I don't
think it will spoil the movie for anyone who hasn't seen it. Essays
