Welcome Modern

MAY YOU REST IN THE ARMS THAT WERE STRETCHED OUT FOR YOU ON THE CROSS.

Thank you for visiting my website. Hope you'll enjoy it and that you'll be back from time to time. It might be helpful to bookmark my homepage (add to your favorites). I hope to be changing the pages periodically. May God's richest blessings be upon you! My prayer is that He will reveal His marvelous love to you!

I do hope that you will spend some time browsing through these pages on "Joyce's Junction".  And, take your time!  I've, sorta, designed this website to be like a Devotional.  If you like, you could read one page per day.  But, that's only for those who wish to use it as such.  Feel free to read as many pages as you like per day!  Whatever you choose to do, my prayer is that God will minister to your heart as you peruse through these pages.  I pray that you will be drawn closer to Jesus as a result!  May you feel His wonderful presence as you spend time here at "Joyce's Junction"!!  Be blessed!

"To recognize God as Lord is to acknowledge that He is sovereign and supreme in the universe. To accept Him as Savior is to accept His gift of salvation offered on the cross. To regard Him as Father is to go a step further. Ideally, a father is the one in your life who provides and protects. This is exactly what God has done. He has provided for your needs (Matt. 6:25-34). He has protected you from harm (Ps. 139:5). He has adopted you (Eph. 1:5). And He has given you His name (I John 3:1). God has proven Himself as a faithful father. Now it falls to us to be trusting children. (Max Lucado - Grace For The Moment)

Sit Still, My Children (by J. Danson Smith)

"Sit still, my children!  Just sit calmly still!
Nor deem these days - these waiting days - as ill!
The One who loves you best, who plans your way,
Has not forgotten your great need today!
And, if he waits, it's sure He waits to prove
To you, His tender child, His heart's deep love.

Sit still, my children!  Just sit calmly still!
You greatly long to know your dear Lord's will!
While anxious thoughts would almost steal their way
Corrodingly within, because of His delay -
Persuade yourself in simple faith to rest
That He, who knows and loves, will do the best.

Sit still, my children!  Just sit calmly still!
Nor move one step, not even one, until
His way has opened.  Then, ah then, how sweet!
How glad your heart, and then how swift your feet,
Your inner being then, ah then, how strong!
And waiting days not counted then too long.

Sit still, my daugher!  Just sit calmly still!
What higher service could you for Him fill?
It's hard!  ah yes!  But choicest things must cost!
For lack of losing all how much is lost!
It's hard, it's true!  But then - He gives you grace
To count the hardest spot the sweetest place."

This and That

"A panhandler walked up to a well-dressed woman who was shopping on Main Street and said, 'Lady, I haven't eaten anything for four long days.'  She looked at him and said, 'I wish I had your will power." (Healing Through Humor - Charles & Frances Hunter)

"The peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will
guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
(Philippians 4:7)
"There is a part of the sea known as 'the cushion of the sea'. It lies beneath the surface that is agitated by storms and churned by the wind. It is so deep that it is a part of the sea that is never stirred. When the ocean floor in these deep places is dredged of the remains of plant or animal life, it reveals evidence of having remained completely undisturbed for hundreds, if not thousands, of years.
The peace of God is an eternal calm like the cushion of the sea. It lies so deeply within the human heart that no external difficulty or disturbance can reach it. And anyone who enters the presence of God becomes a partaker of that undisturbed and undisturbable calm."
(Arthur Tappan Pierson - Streams In The Desert)

"Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us." (Ephesians 3:20)

A Gentle Lamb" - Max Lucado
 (from Grace For The Moment):
"Where God's love is, there is no fear,
because God's perfect love drives out fear."
(I John 4:18) (New Century Version Bible)
"A lot of us live with a hidden fear that God is angry
at us. Somewhere, sometime, some Sunday school class
or some television show convinced us that God has a
whip behind His back, a paddle in His back pocket, and
He's going to nail us when we've gone too far.
No concept could be more wrong! Our Savior's Father
is very fond of us and only wants to share His love
with us.
We have a Father who is filled with compassion, a
feeling Father who hurts when His children hurt.
We serve a God who says that even when we're under
pressure and feel like nothing is going to go
right, He is waiting for us, to embrace us whether
we succeed or fail.
He doesn't come quarreling and wrangling and forcing
His way into anyone's heart. He comes into our
hearts like a gentle lamb, not a roaring lion."

"One of the basic desires of the soul is to
live on and on. Self-preservation is the
first law of nature. People may grow tired
of aches and pains and the decrepitude of
old age, but they do not grow tired of life
itself. God has arranged to satisfy this
yearning of the soul to live forever, and
the desire to be free from pain and sickness
and trouble. People are little creatures
with big capacities, finite beings with
infinite desires, deserving nothing but
demanding all. God made people with this
huge capacity and desire in order that He
might come in and completely satisfy that
desire. God made the human heart so big
that only He can fill it. He made it
demand so much that only He can supply
that demand...Jesus Christ is the only
one who holds the keys of death. In His
death and resurrection He took the sting
out of death, and now God offers eternal
life to every person who puts his trust
and faith in His Son Jesus Christ."

THE RETURN OF JESUS
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
"And then at last, the sign of the coming of the Son of Man will appear in the heavens, and there will be deep mourning among all the nations of the earth.  And they will see the Son of Man arrive on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.  And He will send forth His angels with the sound of a mighty trumpet blast, and they will gather together His chosen ones from the farthest ends of the earth and heaven."  (Matthew 24:30-31)
"The nations of the earth will mourn because unbelievers will suddenly realize that they have chosen the wrong side.  Everything they have scoffed about will be happening, and it will be too late for them."
"Heaven and earth will disappear, but My words will remain forever."
"However, no one knows the day or the hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in heaven or the Son Himself.  Only the Father knows."
"When the Son of Man returns, it will be like it was in the Noah's day.  In those days before the Flood, the people were enjoying banquets and parties and weddings right up to the time Noah entered his boat.  People didn't realize what was going to happen until the Flood came and swept them all away.  That is the way it will be when the Son of Man comes."
"Two men will be working together in the field; one will be taken, the other left.  Two women will be grinding flour at the mill; one will be taken, the other left.  So be prepared, because you don't know what day your Lord is coming."
"Know this:  A homeowner who knew exactly when a burglar was coming would stay alert and not permit the house to be broken into.  You also must be ready all the time.  For the Son of Man will come when least expected."  (Matthew 24:35-44)
"It is good that we don't know exactly when Christ will return.  If we knew the precise date, we might be tempted to be lazy in our work for Christ.  Christ's second coming will be swift and sudden.  There will be no opportunity for last-minute repentance or bargaining.  The choice we have already made will determine our eternal destiny."
"Be dressed for service and well prepared, as though you were waiting for your Master to return from the wedding feast.  Then you will be ready to open the door and let Him in the moment He arrives and knocks.  There will be special favor for those who are ready and waiting for His return.  I tell you, He Himself will seat them, put on an apron, and serve them as they sit and eat!  He may come in the middle of the night or just before dawn.  But whenever He comes, there will be special favor for His servants who are ready!
"Know this:  A homeowner who knew exactly when a burglar was coming would not permit the house to be broken into.  You must be ready all the time, for the Son of Man will come when least expected."  (Luke 12:35-40)
"Jesus repeatedly said that He would leave this world but would return at some future time.  He also said that a kingdom is being prepared for His followers.  Many Greeks envisioned this as a heavenly, idealized spiritual kingdom.  Jews - like Isaiah and John, the writer of Revelation - saw it was a restored earthly kingdom."
"See, I am coming soon, and my reward is with Me, to repay all according to their deeds.  I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End."
"I, Jesus, have sent My angel to give you this message for the churches.  I am both the source of David and the heir to His throne.  I am the bright morning star."  (Revelation 22:12-13, 16)
"Jesus is both David's 'source' and 'heir'.  Jesus, who is one with the Creator of all, existed long before David.  As a human, however, He was one of David's direct descendants.  As the Messiah, He is the 'bright morning star', the light of salvation to all."
