That your joy may be full...

"You will show me the path of life;
In your presence is fullness of joy;
At your right hand are pleasures forevermore."
(Psalm 16:11) (New King James Version)

"Surely it is not blasphemous to think that laughter breaks out in heaven on special occasions. Why shouldn't it? There is every reason to believe that would happen in His infinite, holy presence, where all is well and no evil abides. After all, God sees everything that transpires in this human comedy of errors...He understands it all."
"The secret of living is the same as the secret of joy:  Both revolve around the centrality of Jesus Christ. In other words, the pursuit of happiness is the cultivation of a Christ-centered, Christ-controlled life."
"Basically there are two kinds of people: people who choose joy and people who don't. People who choose joy pay no attention to what day of the week it is...or how old they are...or what level of pain they are in. They have deliberately decided to laugh again because they have chosen joy. People who do not choose joy miss the relief laughter can bring. And because they do not, they cannot. And because they can't they won't. Which one are you?"

How Do You Get To Heaven?

"If I sold my house and my car, had a big garage sale,
and gave all my money to the church, would that get me
into heaven?" I asked the children in my Sunday school
class. "NO!" the children all answered.
"If I cleaned the church every day, mowed the yard, and
kept everything neat and tidy, would that get me into
heaven?" Again the answer was, "NO!"
"Well, then, if I was kind to animals and gave candy to
all the children and loved my wife, would that get me
into heaven?" I asked them again. Once more they all
answered "NO!"
"Well," I continued, thinking they were a good bit more
theologically sophisticated than I had given them credit
for, "then how can I get into heaven?"
A five-year-old boy shouted out, "You gotta be dead!"

"Author Elizabeth Elliot writes in A Lamp for My Feet about a game she played as a young girl. She writes, "My mother or father would say, 'Shut your eyes and hold out your hand.' That was the promise of some lovely surprise. I trusted them, so I shut my eyes instantly and held out my hand. Whatever they were going to give me I was ready to take." She continues, "So should it be in our trust of our heavenly Father. Faith is the willingness to receive whatever He wants to give, or the willingness not to have what He does not want to give."
If your prayers aren't answered in the way you expect them to be, there may a good reason! Several months before Christmas, Jared begged his mother to buy him a new bicycle just like his friend's - and he had to have it now. His mother was a single mom, however, and there was no extra money for a new bicycle until Christmas.
Jared's friend generously lent him his bicycle to ride, and the longer Jared rode it, the more he realized it really wasn't the right bicycle for him. For one thing, it didn't have the racing brakes he wanted.
How often do we think God has forgotten us, when He's merely giving us time to understand what we really want and bringing us His best?"

"You Have Captured God's Heart"

"As a man rejoices over his new wife, so your God will rejoice over you." (Isaiah 62:5)
"Have you ever noticed the way a groom looks at his bride during the wedding? I have. Perhaps it's my vantage point. As the minister of the wedding, I'm positioned next to the groom...
If the light is just so and the angle just right, I can see a tiny reflection in his eyes. Her reflection. And the sight of her reminds him why he is here. His jaw relaxes and his forced smile softens. He forgets he's wearing a tux. He forgets his sweat-soaked shirt.
...When he sees her, any thought of escape becomes a joke again. For it's written all over his face, "Who could bear to live without this bride?"
And such are precisely the feelings of Jesus. Look long enough into the eyes of our Savior and, there, too, you will see a bride. Dressed in fine linen. Clothed in pure grace...She is the bride...walking toward him...
And who is this bride for whom Jesus longs?...
You are. You have captured the heart of God."
(Max Lucado - Grace For The Moment)

Misunderstanding

"Waiter, come here at once," the agitated diner called.  "Can you explain why there is a footprint in the middle of my food?"  "Yes, Sir.  You ordered an omelet and told me to step on it."

"Most people are about as happy as they make up their minds to be." (Abraham Lincoln)

"...live life one surrendered day at a time.  Eyes to the East.  Hands to the cross.  Feet to the path."  (Beth Moore)

"I am coming to you now, but I say these things while I am still in the world, so that they may have the full measure of my joy within them."
(John 17:13) (New International Version)

"May the God of your hope so fill you with all joy and peace in believing (through the experience of your faith) that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound and be overflowing (bubbling over) with hope."   (Romans 15: 13) (The Amplified Bible)

"Keep your eyes on Jesus, our leader and instructor. He was willing to die a shameful death on the cross because of the joy He knew would be His afterwards; and now He sits in the place of honor by the throne of God."
(Hebrews 12:2) (The Living Bible)

**************************************************************

"We know how much God loves us because we have felt His love..." (I John 4:16) (The Living Bible)
"Never question God's great love, for it is as unchangeable a part of God as is His holiness. Were it not for the love of God, none of us would ever have a chance in the future life. But God is love! And His love for us is everlasting. The promises of God's love and forgiveness are as real, as sure, as positive, as human words can make them. But, like describing the ocean, its total beauty cannot be understood until it is actually seen. It is the same with God's love. Until you actually possess true peace with God, no one can describe its wonders to you."

"How To Find Happiness" by Helen Steiner Rice

"Everybody, everywhere seeks happiness, it's true,
But finding it and keeping it seems difficult to do.
Difficult because we think that happiness is found
Only in places where wealth and fame abound -
And so we go on searching in "palaces of pleasure"
Seeking recognition and monetary treasure.
Unaware that happiness is just a "state of mind"
Within the reach of everyone who takes time to be kind
For in making others happy we will be happy, too.
For the happiness you give away returns to "shine on you."
