"You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you."  (Isaiah 26:3) (New International Version)

"Do you want more and more of God's kindness and peace? Then learn to know Him better and better."
(2 Peter 1:2) (The Living Bible)

**************************************************************

"And let the peace (soul harmony which comes) from Christ rule (act as umpire continually) in your hearts [deciding and settling with finality all questions that arise your minds, in that peaceful state] to which as [members of Christ's] one body you were also called [to live]. And be thankful(appreciative), [giving praise to God always].
(Colossians 3:15) (The Amplified Bible)

**************************************************************

"Seated with my son, Joshua, on my lap, I relaxed for a few moments, musing over the activities of the day...I glanced down at Joshua and noticed that he was fast asleep in my arms. He looked so peaceful lying there...
In that tender moment, as I held my sleeping child in my arms, the love that I felt as a father was so rich. But as the Lord spoke to my heart, comparing the love I felt toward Joshua with the greatness of His tender love for me, I understood how weak and frail my love for my son was when compared to God the Father's infinite love for us His children.
As a father, there is nothing that I would not do for my [children]...But my love for them, along with my ability and willingness to lovingly provide and care for them, cannot begin to compare with the wonderful, loyal love that our heavenly Father has for you and me - a love that has never been more in evidence than it was on Calvary."
(Benny Hinn - The Miracle of Healing)

"Lord Give Me Time" by Grace E. Easley

"Lord give me time to know a bit of peace,
Be free from care, before I grow too old.
Beyond the rainbow's end, may I at last,
Find where You've put my little pot of gold.
Lord, give me time to walk among the stars,
As fireflies flicker on a summer night,
Feel the fragile snowflakes on my face,
Hold Autumn to my heart in pure delight.
Lord, give me time to grow, that I may fit
The mold of what you wish me to become.
It is not easy for me, casting off
These human failings that I suffer from.
But Faith has eyes much clearer than my own,
And Hope has wings to lift me up, and I'm
So full of Love, I know for sure I'm meant
For Heaven, given just a little time."

"The most powerful life is the most simple life. The most powerful life is the life that knows where it is going, that knows where the source of strength is, and the life that stays free of clutter and happenstance and hurriedness.
Being busy is not a sin. Jesus was busy. Paul was busy. Peter was busy. Nothing of significance is achieved without effort and hard work and weariness. Being busy, in and of itself, is not a sin. But being busy in an endless pursuit of things that leave us empty and hollow and broken inside - that cannot be pleasing to God.
One source of man's weariness is the pursuit of things that can never satisfy; but which one of us has not been caught up in that pursuit at some time in our life? Our passions, possessions, and pride - these are all dead things. When we try to get life out of dead things, the result is only weariness and dissatisfaction."
(Max Lucado - Grace For The Moment)

"I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep:
for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety." (Psalm 4:8)
"In a materialistic world which has tried to sever diplomatic relations with God, we have nowhere to retreat except within ourselves. We are like turtles in a traffic jam - the best we can do is to pull our heads into our shells and shut our eyes. But that's a good way to get the life crushed out of us, as any dead turtle can attest. Man's conflict with man has been but an expression on the human level of his conflict with God. Until man finds an armistice with God, he cannot know peace with his fellowman. If we are to be peacemakers, we first must make our peace with God."

"Peace I leave with you; My [own]
peace I now give and bequeath to
you.   Not as the world gives do I
give to you. Do not let your
hearts be troubled, neither let
them be afraid. [Stop allowing
yourselves to be agitated and
disturbed; and do not permit
yourselves to be fearful and
intimidated and cowardly and
unsettled.]   (John 14:27)
(The Amplified Bible)

wait for Him and patiently lean
yourself upon Him..."

"A New Day" by Clay Harrison:

"How lovely the sunrise and cool morning breeze
As slivers of sunlight sift through the trees.
The shadows are yawning about to depart;
A new day is dawning ready to start.
The clouds are aglow with purples and red
As the moon and the stars crawl into bed.
A chorus of songbirds are singing a hymn
Praising the Master upon every limb.
The roses are drenched with cool morning dew,
Each petal a diamond of lavender hue.
The curtains of heaven are changing to blue...
A new day is dawning...waiting for you."

"We need to give ourselves permission to enjoy various moments in life even though all of life is not in perfect order. This takes practice, but it's worth the effort.
Stop reading only the grim sections of the newspaper. Watch less television and start reading more books that bring a smile instead of a frown. Locate a few acquaintances who will help you laugh more at life. Ideally, find Christian friends who see life through Christ's eyes, which is in itself more encouraging. Have fun together. Share funny stories with each other. Affirm one another."

"Precious Moments" by Betty Purser Patten:

"Precious moments in my day, are -
when I quietly slip away, and
Spend some time with my best Friend
in moments I don't want to end.
Precious moments when I yield
all of my being to His will,
Harried hours cease to be
in moments with my God and me.
There's a peace this world can't bother
in moments I spend with my Father,
My day just seems to shape-up right
my evenings turn to perfect night.
Precious moments go so fast -
how I wish they'd last and last!
Yet, I know somehow they'll be moments
moments in eternity.
So, I'll slip away this hour, for
moments filled with mighty power,
For time more precious than pure gold
in moments priceless to my soul."

"David rejoiced in God's presence.
Psalm 68:3 encourages us to do the same.
'But let the godly rejoice. Let them
be glad in God's presence. Let them be
filled with joy.'
(New Living Translation)
Ephesians 3:12 teaches that we can enter
God's presence with confidence because
of the work of Jesus Christ. In fact,
we can believe in God's presence even
when we don't feel it.
'Because of Christ and our faith in
him, we can now come fearlessly into
God's presence, assured of His glad
welcome.'"

Who Thirst)

"Do you want to know God's will?
Then search for it first in the
Bible. The psalmist declared,
'The entrance of thy words
giveth light' (Psalm 119:130).
You can have God's light
shining in your life if you
will just turn on the power
available in His written Word."
(George Sweeting -
How To Discover The Will Of God)

"Even in the necessary busyness of life,
we can experience inner peace because we
know we have been reconciled to God.
Our right relationship with Him gives us
peace. Romans 5:1 reminds us of the true
source of serenity:
'Therefore, since we have been made
right in God's sight by faith, we have
peace with God because of what Jesus
Christ our Lord has done for us.'
(New Living Translation)
Worrying about life's problems robs us of
serenity. God wants us to pray about
everything. He promises in Philippians
4:6-7 to give us peace and serenity if
we trust Him with thankful hearts:
'Don't worry about anything; instead,
pray about everything. Tell God what
you need, and thank Him for all He has
done. If you do this, you will experience
God's peace, which is far more wonderful
than the human mind can understand. His
peace will guard your hearts and minds as
you live in Christ Jesus.'
(New Living Translation)
Serenity comes to those who are willing
to slow down long enough to receive all
God wants to give to them. The temple
assistants who wrote Psalm 46:10 under-
stood the secret to finding peace - be
still in God's presence.
'Be silent, and know that I am God!'
(New Living Translation)
Serenity is elusive in our fast-paced
world. It's not easy to take the
psalm writer's advice and 'be silent'.
It's difficult to disengage, to slow
down, and to listen to God. Thirsting
for success and hungering for meaning,
we push and strain and fill every
waking moment with noisy activity.
And we work hard to succeed in our
own strength, in our own power, under
our own control.
But this striving for success fills us
with emptiness, not peace. Straining
to achieve brings us disappointment,
not serenity. True peace is found in
the quiet moments we spend in God's
presence.
God tells us to take a significant
break from the frantic pace and hectic
schedule, to move away from society's
deafening cacophony, to stop talking
and start listening to Him. Then, and
only then, will we be positioned to
get to know Him, our eternal, all-
powerful, all-knowing, ever present
God.
If you are searching for serenity,
take the psalm writer's advice.
BE SILENT - listen to God's
gentle whisper.
BE SILENT - know that He alone
is your God.
BE SILENT - submit yourself
to Him."
(Living Water For Those Who Thirst)
