"Most of our prayer lives could use a tune-up.
Some prayer lives lack consistentcy. They're
either a desert or an oasis. Long, arid, dry
spells interuppted by brief plunges into the
waters of communion...
Others of us need sincerity. Our prayers are
a bit hollow, memorized, and rigid. More
liturgy than life. And though they are daily,
they are dull.
Still others lack, well, honesty. We honestly
wonder if prayer makes a difference. Why on
earth would God in heaven want to talk to me?
If God knows all, who am I to tell Him anything?
If God controls all, who am I to do anything?...
Our prayers may be awkward. Our attempts may be
feeble. But since the power of prayer is in the
one who hears it and not the one who says it, our
prayers do make a difference."
(Max Lucado - Grace For The Moment)

"A lot of us live with a hidden fear that God is angry with us. Somewhere, sometime, some Sunday school class or some television show convinced us that God has a whip behind His back, a paddle in His back pocket, and He's going to nail us when we've gone too far.
No concept could be more wrong! Our Savior's Father is very fond of us and only wants to share His love with us.
We have a Father who is filled with compassion, a feeling Father who hurts when His children hurt. We serve a God
who says that even when we're under pressure and feel like nothing is going to go right, He is waiting for us, to embrace us whether we succeed or fail.
He doesn't come quarreling and wrangling and forcing His
way into anyone's heart. He comes into our hearts like a gentle lamb, not a roaring lion."
(Max Lucado - Grace For The Moment)

"When we examine the problems that confront us in our world today, we find that every one of them resolves into a problem of "inner space," a problem of the dark side of the human spirit. From thousands of letters we receive, it is evident that a large proportion of the population is facing deep personal problems. They vary from person to person, but they do exist, and they are all problems of "inner space." Yes, we are the people who have been conquering outer space, but are in danger of losing the battle of the spirit. But there is a solution - for millions it has already been reached - and that solution is in Jesus Christ. He said: "My peace - my liberty, my freedom - "I give unto you" (John 14:27). Today if we will turn the searchlight of truth on the dark side of our human spirits and let Jesus Christ become the Master Control of our lives, a new day will dawn for us. Submit the "inner space" of your life to Him."   (Taken from Day By Day With Billy Graham)

"Neverthelss I am continally with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand. Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory. Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee. My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever."
(Psalm 73:23-26) (King James Version)

"Be ready in the morning, and then come up...Present yourself to me there on top of the mountain. No one is to come with you." (Exodus 34:2-3)
"The morning is a critically important time of day. You must never face the day until you have faced God, nor look into the face of others until you have looked into His. You cannot expect to be victorious, if you begin your day in your own strength alone.
Begin the work of every day after having been influenced by a few reflective, quiet moments between your heart and God. Do not meet with others, even the members of your own family, until you have first met with the great Guest and honored Companion of your life - Jesus Christ.
Meet with Him alone and regularly, having His Book of counsel open before you. Then face the ordinary, and the unique, responsibilities of each day with the renewed influence and control of His character over all your actions.
Begin the day with God!
He is your Sun and Day!
His is the radiance of your dawn;
To Him address your day.
Sing a new song at morn!
Join the glad woods and hills;
Join the fresh winds and seas and plains,
Join the bright flowers and rills.
Sing your first song to God!
Not to your fellow men;
Not to the creatures of His hand,
But to the glorious One.
Take your first walk with God!
Let Him go forth with thee;
By stream, or sea, or mountain path,
Seek still His company.
Your first transaction be
With God Himself above;
So will your business prosper well,
All the day be love."
(Horatius Bonar - Streams In The Desert)

"Why would we rejoice when we encounter
problems? The Bible tells us in Romans 5:3-4
that life's difficulties are opportunities
to grow and strengthen character.
'We can rejoice, too, when we run into
problems and trials, for we know that they
are good for us - they help us learn to
endure. And endurance develops strength
of character in us, and character strengthens
our confident expectations of salvation.'
(New Living Translation)
You won't know the depth of your character
until it is tested. James 1:3-4 teaches
that God allows pain and problems to help
His people grow in maturity. The key is
to turn to God in our tough times and rely
on Him for endurance.
'For when your faith is tested, your
endurance has a chance to grow. So let it
grow, for when your endurance is fully
developed, you will be strong in character
and ready for anything.'"

I give Thee right of way,
Work both to will and do
And help me to be true."

How To Discover The Will

"Lord, You know that through our tears
Of hasty, selfish weeping
Comes surer sin, and for our petty fears
Of loss you have in keeping
A greater gain than all of which we dreamed;
You knowest that in grasping
The bright possessions which so precious seemed
We lose them; but if, clasping
Your faithful hand, we tread with steadfast feet
The path of Your appointing,
There waits for us a treasury of sweet
Delight, royal anointing
With oil of gladness and of strength."
(Helen Hunt Jackson)

"Trust in Him." (Psalm 37:5)
(New International Version)
"The word 'trust' is the heart of faith
and is the Old Testament word given to
the infant, or early, stages of faith.
The word 'faith' conveys more an act of
will, while the word 'belief' conveys an
act of the mind or intellect, but trust
is the language of the heart. The words
'faith' and 'belief' refer more to a
truth believed or to something expected
to happen.
Trust implies more than this, for it sees
and it leans on those who have a great,
living, and genuine heart of love. There-
fore let us 'trust also in Him' (Ps. 37:5
KJV), through all the delays, in spite of
all the difficulties, and in the face of
all the rejection we encounter in life.
And in spite of our feelings and evidence
to the contrary, and even when we cannot
understand our way or our situation, may
we still 'trust also in Him; [for] He shall
bring it to pass.' The way will open, our
situation will be changed, and the end
result will be peace. The cloud will
finally be lifted, and the light of eternal
noonday will shine at last.
Trust and rest when all around you
Puts your faith to stringent test;
Let no fear or foe confound you,
Wait for God and trust and rest.
Trust and rest with heart abiding,
Like a birdling in its nest,
Underneath His feathers hiding,
Fold your wings and trust and rest."
(L. B. Cowman - Streams In The Desert)

"Let us go with you, because we have heard that God is with you." (Zechariah 8:23)  "When you find a man who shows evidence of walking with the Lord, you will do well to join him. Make friends with those who are friends of God."

"Faith is not belief without proof,
but trust without reservation."
"I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I have committed unto Him against that day." (2 Timothy 1:12)
"During the terrible days of the Blitz of World War 22, a father - holding his young daughter by the hand - ran from a building that had been struck by a bomb. In the front yard was a large hole left by a shell explosion several days before. Seeking shelter as quickly as possible, the father jumped into the hole and then held up his arms for his young daughter to follow.  Terrifed at the explosions around her and unable to see her father in the darkness of the hole, she cried, 'I can't see you, Papa!'   The father looked up against the sky that was lit with white tracer lights and tinted red by burning buildings and called to his daughter, who was standing in silhouette at the hole's edge, 'But I can see you, my darling, Jump!'   The little girl jumped...not because she could see her father, but because she trusted him to tell her the truth and to do what was best for her.
We may not be able to discern clearly where it is our Heavenly Father is leading us, but we can trust it is to a good place. We may not know what God has 'up His sleeve,'  but we can trust His arms to be everlasting."

SIMPLY SAY..."JESUS, COULD YOU GET THAT FOR ME PLEASE?"
