"Dear restless heart, be still; don't fret and worry so;
God has a thousand ways His love and help to show;
Just trust, and trust, and trust, until His will you know.
Dear restless heart, be still; for peace is God's own smile,
His love can every wrong and sorrow reconcile;
Just love, and love, and love, and calmly wait awhile.
Dear restless heart, be brave; don't moan and sorrow so,
He has a meaning kind in chilly winds that blow;
Just hope, and hope, and hope, until you braver grow.
Dear restless heart, recline upon His breast this hour,
His grace is strength and life, His love is bloom & flower;
Just rest, and rest, and rest, within His tender power.
Dear restless heart, be still! Don't struggle to be free;
God's life is in your life, from Him you may not flee;
Just pray, and pray, and pray, till you have faith to see."

"I Wish" by Shirley R. Heinrich

"I wished the sun would always shine
And skies would not turn gray,
And life would be the way it was
When I knew how to play.
Each day was filled with happiness
A wonderment galore.
The beauty of each passing day
Concealed what lay in store.
As years went swiftly marching by
And troubles reared their head,
I found a Friend who taught me that
Life's trials I should not dread.
He said to bless our heavy loads
Accept them with a smile,
For He would give us strength to bear
And walk with us each mile.
I took Him at His promise,
By faith, He filled all lack.
I gave Him all my burdens,
And I don't ever want them back.
Now, all my days are sun filled
'Cause when the skies turn gray,
I call upon my new found Friend
To brighten up my day."

"God sometimes shuts the door and shuts us in,
That He may speak, perhaps through grief or pain,
And softly, heart to heart, above the din,
May tell some precious thought to us again."
(Taken from Streams In The Desert)

"Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:
Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made Himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to death - even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." (Philippians 2: 6-11)

"The Sunshine Breaks Through" by Dolores Karides

"The day may be dreary and the sky overcast
But I'm not concerned that the climate will last.
For the love in my heart and the warmth in my soul
Give me comfort and power to banish the cold.
When my faith in the Lord remains steadfast and true
Then into my life the sunshine shines through.
And the light of the Lord illumines the way
To change gloom into joy and a bright cheery day."

"We know that Jesus performed many miracles, yet He said of those who believe in Him: 'Greater than these shall ye do.'
(John 14:12 King James Version)
"I wish I could explain signs, wonders, and healings, but I can't. All I know is that they did not cease with the ministry of Christ and the apostles. How can I be sure? At the very least from my own personal experience. I was born with a severe stuttering problem that completely disappeared the moment I stood up to preach my first sermon.  God confirms His Word and bears witness 'with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit' (Heb. 2:4). Not just back then, but right now.   (Benny Hinn - The Miracle of Healing)

"You have a Heavenly Father. He loves you. He sees you as an individual, not as one looking down and seeing a mass of humanity below. You are as personal to God as though you were the only one in the whole world with a need, as though you were the only one trusting Him. You are surrounded by His tender care and everlasting love. You are a child of His keeping. You can pray about your job, pray about the clothing for your body, pray about the daily needs of that little family of yours, including the shoes on your children's feet. You have a Heavenly Father who is interested in every detail of your life."

"Blessed are those whose strength is in you...As they
pass through the Valley of Baca, they make it a place
of springs." (Psalm 84:5-6) (New International Version)
"Comfort is not given to us when we are lighthearted
and cheerful. We must travel the depths of emotion in
order to experience comfort - one of God's most precious gifts. And then we must be prepared to become coworkers with Him.
When the shadows of night - needed night - gather over the garden of our souls, when leaves close up and flowers no longer reflect any sunlight within their folded petals, and when we experience even the thickest darkness, we must remember that we will never be found wanting and that the comforting drops of heavenly dew fall only after the sun
has set."   (L. B. Cowman - Streams In The Desert)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "The Power of Prayer" by Nick Kenny:
"Nobody knows the power of prayer,
But Somebody must be listening there
With a friendly ear for the heart that calls.
Someone Who knows when a sparrow falls.
Miracles lie in the power of prayer;
Faith that can banish the soul's despair!
Hope that can shine like a holy light
And brighten the spirit's darkest night!
When earthly help is of no avail
There is one Friend Who will never fail;
Just lift your eyes - the answer is there.
For nobody knows the power of prayer!"
"There is a legend that tells of a
German baron who, at his castle on
the Rhine, stretched wires in the
air from tower to tower so that the
wind might treat them as a wind harp
and thereby create music as it blew
across them. Yet as the soft breezes
swirled around the castle, no music
was born.
One night, however, a fierce storm
arose, and the hill where the castle
sat was struck with the fury of the
violent wind. The baron looked out
his doorway on the terror of the wind,
and the wind harp was filling the air
with melodies that rang out even above
the noise of the storm. It had taken
a fierce storm to produce the music!
Haven't we all known people whose lives
have never produced any pleasing music
during their days of calm prosperity
but who, when fierce winds have blown
across their lives, have astonished us
by the power and beauty of their music?"
"Without God's perspective, we can lose hope and get discouraged. Luke 18:27 declares that all things are possible with God - we should look at our problems from God's perspective.
'Jesus replied, What is impossible from a human
perspective is possible with God.'
God is not elusive - He reveals Himself in His
Word. First John 2:5 tells us that we can
discover God's perspective in the Bible.
'But those who obey God's word really do love
Him. That is the way to know whether or not
we live in Him.'
"Memories" by Grace E. Easley
"Memories are heartbeats, Sounding through the years,
Echoes never failing, Of our smiles and tears.
Moments that are captured, Sometimes unaware,
Pictures in an album, Or a lock of hair.
Images that linger Deep within the mind,
Bits of verse we cherished Once upon a time.
Through the musty hallways Of the days we knew,
Ever comes the vision, Beautiful and true.
Memories are roses Blooming everymore,
Full of fragrant sweetness, Never known before.
Life must have a reason, Goals for which to strive,
Memories are lights that burn...To keep the heart alive."
"Psalm 112:1-3 speaks of the many benefits of
having faith in God. Happiness is one advantage
of the Christian life. God also blesses His
people with success, fulfillment, joy, and the
hope of eternity with Him.
'Happy are those who fear the Lord. Yes,
happy are those who delight in doing what He
commands. Their children will be successful
everywhere; an entire generation of godly
people will be blessed. They themselves will
be wealthy, and their good deeds will never
be forgotten.'
Proverbs 11:23 reveals the secret of happiness -
we will find it if we fear and honor God.
'The godly can look forward to happiness, while
the wicked can expect only wrath.'
Solomon wrote in Ecclesiastes 5:10 that those who
seek happiness in accumulating wealth will never
be satisfied. Happiness comes to those who obey
God.  'Those who love money will never have enough.
How absurd to think that wealth brings true
happiness.'"
"For Every Sorrow" by Grace E. Easley
"For every sorrow You bestow,
You also send a sweetness.
Diluting each and every pain,
By Your dear Love's completeness.
You always keep reminding me,
As long as each man lives,
That while one hand may take away,
...Your other always gives.
For every rock that cuts my foot,
You move a stone away,
And when life asks too much, You find
A price that I can pay.
When my cries are loudest,
And seem to no avail,
And walls rise up to block my path,
...You blaze another trail.
Each time my heart grows weary,
You send Your blessed peace,
And when my boat is tempest-tossed,
You bid the storm to cease.
So side by side we walk along,
My Lord and dearest Friend,
For every cross I carry,
...You lift the other end."
