"God never asks about our ability or our inability - just our availability."
(Taken from God's Little Devotional Book for Women)

"Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit," says the LORD of hosts. (Zechariah 4:6)

"Come to me, all of you who are tired and have heavy loads, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28)
"As long as Jesus is one of many options, He is no option.
As long as you can carry your burdens alone, you don't need a burden bearer. As long as your situation brings you no grief, you will receive no comfort. And as long as you can take Him or leave Him, you might as well leave Him, because He won't be taken half-heartedly.
But when you mourn, when you get to the point of sorrow for your sins, when you admit that you have no other option but to cast all your cares on Him, and when there is truly no other name that you can call, then cast all your cares on Him, for He is waiting in the midst of the storm."
(Max Lucado - Grace For The Moment)

"But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at last you have revived your concern for me; indeed, you were concerned before, but you lacked opportunity."
"Though getting up in years, Paul is rejoicing. Though without the comforts of home and the privileges of privacy, he is happy. Though he doesn't have a clue regarding his future, he is smiling at life. Though he is set aside, forced to stay in one place, completely removed from the excitement of a broader ministry, he is still rejoicing, still laughing. No matter what happened to him, Paul refused to be caught in the grip of pessimism."
"Not that I speak from want; for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am."
"Paul is contented. To him it made no difference whether he was freed or bound to a soldier...whether the day was hot and humid or bleak and frigid...whether the Philippians sent a gift or failed to make contact. How wonderfully refreshing. How incredibly mature!"

"Some people expect that obeying
God will limit or restrain them,
but Psalm 119:45 reveals that true
freedom comes through living God's
way. He knows what is best for us!
'I will walk in freedom, for I
have devoted myself to your
commandments.' (New Living Translation)
Jesus claims in John 8:31-32 that
the truth can set us free. How?
God's truth sets us free from the
ravages of sin, from self-delusion,
and from deception. Sin enslaves,
but Jesus is the truth that sets
us free. 'Jesus said to the people who
believed in Him, 'You are truly my
disciples if you keep obeying my
teachings. And you will know the
truth, and the truth will set you
free.' (New Living Translation)
The more you devote yourself to God,
the more freedom you will find.
Galatians 5:13 describes the freedom
God gives:
'For you have been called to live
in freedom - not freedom to satisfy
your sinful nature, but freedom to
serve one another in love.'"
(New Living Translation)

 "MY OLD BIBLE"

"Though the cover is worn, and the pages torn,
And though places bear traces of tears,
Yet more precious than gold, is this book,
worn and old,
That can shatter and scatter our fears.
This old book is my guide, 'tis a friend by my side,
It will brighten and lighten my way,
And each promise I find soothes and gladdens my mind
As I read it and heed it by day.
To this Bible I will cling, of its worth I will sing,
Though great losses and crosses be mine.
For I cannot despair though surrounded by care,
While possessing this blessing divine."
(Author Unknown)

"Quiet Hour" by Helen Neimy:

"Tis morning! and I find myself
Within another day,
This day, a gift of God to me,
The hope of yesterday!
And, Holy Father, now I come,
So early in the morning,
To give You honor, love and praise,
Your holiness adorning.
And as I lift my heart to You
In prayer and praise and love,
In turn I feel Your loving grace
Flowing from above,
Establishing this bright new day
With joy and love and power;
And so I consecrate each day
This sacred quiet hour!"

"Don't forget to have fun as you grow up."
"The longer I live the more I become convinced that our major battle in life is not with age but with maturity. Don't waste your time worrying about how old you are getting. Age is a matter of fact. Maturity, on the other hand, is a matter of choice."
"What is your particular quest? For what are you leaning forward? There is something wonderfully exciting about reaching into the future with excited anticipation, and those who pursue new adventures through life stay younger, think better, and laugh louder!"
(Charles S. Swindoll - Laugh Again - Experience Outrageous Joy)

"Even a perfect egg must break for new life to be born."

"A New Day" by Doloris Karides

"Dusk falls...and I close my eyes
To wake to a bright new tomorrow.
Gone are...the labors of life, the
futility of strife, and the
lingering trauma of sorrow.
Dawn breaks...and I clearly see
A new day of heavenly creation
Fresh with new hope, renewed faith
and good cheer, and the promise
of eternal salvation."

"I will send down showers in season; there will be showers of blessing." (Ezekiel 34:26) (New International Version)
"What is your SEASON today? Are you experiencing a season of drought? If so, then it is the season for showers. Are you going through a season of great heaviness with dark clouds? Then that too is the season for showers. 'Your strength will equal your days' (Deut. 33:25). 'I will send...SHOWERS of blessing.' Notice that the word 'showers' is plural.
God will send all kinds of blessings. And all His blessings go together like links in a golden chain. If He gives you saving grace, He will also give you comforting grace. God will send 'SHOWERS of blessings'. Look up today, you who are dried and withered plants. Open your leaves and flowers and receive God's heavenly watering."
(Charles H. Spurgeon - Streams In The Desert)

"Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised."
(Proverbs 31:30)   (New International Version)
"Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom."   (Psalm 90:12)  (New International Version)
"Martha, Martha," the Lord answered, "you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her."   (Luke 10:41-42)   (New International Version)

"When you pass through the water"
Deep the waves may be and cold,
But Jehovah is our refuge,
And His promise is our hold;
For the Lord Himself has said it,
He, the faithful God and true:
"When you come to the waters
You will not go down, BUT THROUGH."
Seas of sorrow, seas of trial,
Bitter anguish, fiercest pain,
Rolling surges of temptation
Sweeping over heart and brain -
They will never overflow us
For we know His word is true;
All His waves and all His billows
He will lead us safely THROUGH.
Threatening breakers of destruction,
Doubt's insidious undertow,
Will not sink us, will not drag us
Out to ocean depths of woe;
For His promise will sustain us,
Praise the Lord, whose Word is true!
We will not go down, or under,
For He says, "You will pass THROUGH."
(Annie Johnson Flint - Streams In The Desert)

My prayer for you is that you would admit that you are a sinner in need of a Saviour. Jesus died to give you new life!
