Special Occasion Quilts LLC is making available an APQS Millenium long-arm machine in good working order for rent to the Renter listed below at the following rates[1] (circled) and terms:

                                                Beginner - $20/hour                Experienced[2] - $15/hour

·         Rental time begins when Renter starts or when Renter’s reservation time is (whichever is earlier) and finishes when quilt is taken off the machine, measured to the nearest ¼ hour.

·         The minimum rental period is 2 hours. 

·         A deposit is required for the minimum rental period in advance.  Deposit will be refunded for cancellations made 48 hours in advance of rental period or for emergencies.

·         Renter will purchase a set of zipper leads and will use them on each quilt.

·         Renter will operate the machine and studio equipment in a safe and respectful manner: 

o       Tie back long hair and don’t wear scarves, dangling necklaces or very loose clothing

o       Keep the studio area free from smoking, food and drinks (except water)

o       Keep tools and pins off the table and quilt

o       Use blunt scissors when quilting

o       Always close rotary cutters before laying them down

o       Clean up and put away all tools and books, etc.

·         Renter operates the machine and studio equipment at his/her own risk.  Renter will not hold Special Occasion Quilts LLC responsible for any injury caused to their person or children, or damage caused to quilts

·         If Renter is a Beginner Renter, Renter agrees to the following:

o       To request assistance to perform any of the following: oiling the machine, changing thread, adjusting tension, removing thread jams, or replacing needles. 

o       To not make ANY adjustments to the machine on their own. 

o       To not attempt any technique which Renter has not covered in a class or training session with Special Occasion Quilts LLC, such as using the base extender, rulers, stencils, Hartley Fence, or pantographs.

·         Renter agrees to supervise and maintain control of any children (minimum age 8) that Renter brings and put the play area back to original condition.

·         Renter agrees to pay for repair/replacement for any damage to the machine, equipment or studio directly caused by Renter or Renter’s children.

·         Renter agrees to pay the full amount due on the day of rental either by cash or check, made out to Special Occasion Quilts LLC.  $30 fee for returned checks.
