How You Can Help

A successful full scale production requires help from all corners. A director relies on many volunteers. The following are areas that require participation and commitment from families of all cast members.


Ads - secures ads from local businesses to go into the program; this helps to significantly reduce the costumes fees per family. This job is vital!

Costumes - helps procure costumes for actors; handles costume changes for performances. In some cases, sewing is involved.

Concessions - sells concessions during the intermission of each show.

Front of House - sells tickets at shows.

Make Up - applies suitable makeup for each actor for dress rehearsals and performances.

Program Design - has desk top publishing capabilities.

Properties Committee - manufactures or secures set props; sometimes requires creativity with paint, cardboard and paper mache.

Publicity - submits press releases to newspaper calendars and email lists.

Running Crew* - works set changes, sets props and has general backstage duties during tech week and performances.

Set Construction - helps acquire, build and paint set pieces.

Set Design - Helps design and paint backdrops for set; requires some artistic talent for realistic backdrops.

Usher* - takes tickets and helps seat audience during performances.


* Position can be held by an interested and responsible, non-acting teen.
