The Need for Anti-Missionary Activities

It seems to me that there is a lot of confusion about the purpose of anti-missionary activities. For myself, being an anti-missionary Jew does not have anything to do with proving what is wrong with Christianity to Christians. It has to do with proving what is DIFFERENT between Judaism and Christianity to JEWS. They are not interchangeable and you can (indeed you must) believe in only one religion, Judaism OR Christianity.

Granted, that in order to demonstrate the truth about Judaism, both what it is and what it isn't, it is sometimes necessary to demonstrate lies and fallacies in the Christian bible, but these items have been falsified, sometimes from their beginnings, with the express purpose of deceiving people (particularly Jews) into believing in Jesus by making such a belief seem palatable. The only way to fight these insidious tactics is to hold up the lies for examination and exposure.

There is no reason to spend one's time teaching Christians about what their bible "really" says; as I stated before I believe such activity is both counter-productive and rude. We can all spend our time more productively (as well as in a morally superior way) by learning as much about Judaism as possible (nobody is going to run out of things to learn, that's for sure!)

The only possible outcome that could come from convincing Christians that Judaism is right and Christianity is wrong, is conversion. And, Jewish law prohibits proselytizing; if someone likes what I say and wants to learn more, then that would make me happy, but I will not hold a conversation with someone with that as my goal. And, I don't think that Jews trying to fight them should adopt the reprehensible tactics of Christian missionaries.

The only thing that we do as anti-missionaries, that is as dangerous to ourselves as the people we are trying to help, is separate ourselves into segregated groups of Jews who are accepted to be "real" and Jews who aren't. Even if we don't drive people to be Christians; we will still lose the hearts and souls of people. We have to show by our actions that Judaism is a religion of love and community; doing so will take away missionaries biggest drawing card. So, let us all pull together to increase the sense of community of ALL Jews and our fellow Jews will have no need to look for 'salvation' with Jesus.
