Tent Revival Route 309 Near the old R&S DinerBorn out of a 1957 tent revival conducted by "The Gospel Crusade", Pennridge Full Gospel Tabernacle was founded in the Spring of 1958 under the name "North Penn Revival Center." With Gerald Derstine as the Pastor and Robert Barkley as the Co-Pastor, regular services were held on Sunday Mornings as well as Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday evenings at the Brotherhood Hall Building, 543 Walnut St. in South Perkasie.

Trinity Lutheran, Lansdale (1959) North Penn Revival Center - the predecessor of Pennridge Full Gospel Tabernacle (PFGT)The building soon became too small and on March 26, 1959, the congregation rented the former Trinity Lutheran Church at East Main & Broad Streets, Lansdale. It was at that time that Gerald Derstine was called to Florida, leaving Allan Shantz as overseer with Roy Allebach, Sr. assisting. Reverend Jay Bunker was called from Minnesota to pastor the new work, but only filled that capacity for one year before returning to Minnesota.

Old Hilltown Township Community Hall (1960) PFGT's first building in Blooming GlenReverend Roy Allebach, Sr. was ordained to the ministry and assumed the pastorate on November 27, 1960, a position which he faithfully served until August 28, 1988. On April 20, 1961, the building known as the Community Hall School was purchased for $6000.00 and the first permanent home of the infant congregation was established - without running water and inside rest rooms! Our charter as a non-profit religious organization was received in November 1961 and in 1965, to more appropriately reflect our location purpose, the name was changed to Pennridge Full Gospel Tabernacle. Since its inception, Pennridge Full Gospel Tabernacle has been affiliated with Gospel Crusade in Bradenton, Florida, which functions in an advisory capacity and provides a spiritual covering.

Today, Pennridge Full Gospel Tabernacle is still an active voice of the Full Gospel in Upper Bucks County. After 50 (1957-2007) years many things have changed in our region and in our church, yet the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ as not changed.

Our Commitment here at Pennridge is:

  • Preach the Words of Jesus

  • Prepare Leaders and Ministers for Jesus

  • Do the Works of Jesus

  • Share the Love of Jesus
