My thoughts on Hillary
On the Lanys messageboard there was a topic "put up or Shut Up" challenging people to post why people should not vote for Hillary.

The rules:
"I'm constantly hearing people badmouth Hillary Clinton. I'm issuing a challenge to anyone here who badmouths her, or would make snarky comments about her (especially in regards to her running in '08)
HERE IS THE CHALLENGE

1. When posting to answer this challenge, post 'MY RESPONSE TO THE CHALLENGE' or something equally as snazzy so people know that's your official response (you can add to it later). Everything else will be seen as responses, etc.

2. You must state your opinion, back it up as best you can WITHOUT USING ANY ADDITIONAL RESOURCES beyond your brain and memory. You're supporting why you hold a specific opinion now, that's the point.
Other people if they comment, should understand the person is not using resources, and will of course make mistakes. (My memory, for example, tends to suck). [You can look up how to spell something, that's it.]

2a. If you comment to someone's post correcting their information, you need to note whether YOU used resources. You don't win points by 'pwning' someone because they went on their personal knowledge and got a date wrong, and you googled it.

3. You must give opinions based on something factual (like her record) rather than, "Well, I just think she comes off like a bitch".

I will also be posting this elsewhere. The reason for this challenge is I hear an awful lot of people saying things, and I think they're simply parroting what they hear. When I've asked people specifically why they don't like her...suddenly they draw a blank. Or start pulling stuff wildly out of their ass. I'm simply curious to see what most people have to say for themselves if they don't like her, and why they don't like her. "

Well On 8 Aug 2005 I responded to this challenge:
In response to the challenge:
As an Arkansan I have known Hillary for a long time. Her policies have always been of the Government to the people. She is and would be completely happy with a government program to care for YOU from your time of birth to your death. But would rather care for her needs for herself. Notice in her speeches she says "for you", "you need" and for "the people". I know it is a nuance in speech but that is how she shades it.

Hillary is a smart woman. She would never SAY that she wants the government to control YOUR life. But look at the total of her "work":
She was instrumental in trying to get a socialized system of healthcare in place in the US. This was to take over about one third of the economy.

In Arkansas she has always been a huge proponent of creating new departments to "solve" problems. Under then Governor Clinton the public education systems, primary and secondary, was at the very bottom of every statistic except teen pregnancy. I will never forget one of her speeches to the Arkansas Educations Association (the AEA was nearly as powerful as the governor in Arkansas) where she said (and I am paraphrasing) that the answer is for the people to do more for the education system and they proposed more taxes to "FIX" the broken system. No plan just more money will fix it. They implemented all the things she spoke about and the schools went from last to next to last and stayed there all throughout the Clinton administrations.

She also wanted the government to set all the standards to take the control from the local school systems and have it reside in the state government (and AEA).

Hillary has always been the "attack dog" of the Clinton house. Whenever Bill was in trouble it was Hillary that would "appear" in the media to attack the opposition. Again in Arkansas during the days of Clinton it was a two party state, the Democrats that were part of the Clinton Administration and the Democrats that wanted to be a part of the Clinton Administration. During a Democrat primary in the late 80's the Democrat challenger tried to make an issue of Bill's "extra activities" it was Hillary that came out and destroyed the man.

I have been at many functions where she was a speaker or special guest. I tried to speak to her several times because she was the State's first lady and I felt I owed her some form of respect. She would not speak to anyone that would not make her look good. I felt as a young man that she had total and complete disgust for me. (this was a time when I had not gotten involved in politics). I felt that because I was not a voter and I could not help her she would have nothing to do with me.

Now listen to her, look up ALL the speeches she has given lately. When she is speaking to a large audience she will take her message to the hard right. Yet when she is in front of a smaller and Democrat core audience she will counter the things she said at the other speech. She is trying to make the move to the middle, like Bill did in the late 1980's before his run for President. But her voting record in the US Senate has her as one of the top five liberals!.

Look at her recent statements where she is for life. Every time she has been approached about the issue in the past she has been nothing but a hard core pro-abortionist. She is saying that we need to be stronger on our borders yet she votes for giving government aid and grants to illegal immigrants to go to college. She says that she supports the military but has never voted for funding the military (she even voted to reduce the size of the Little Rock Air Force Base which is one of the top employers in central Arkansas!).

I am reminded of this story that describes Bill:
"Bill Clinton could go the Statehouse Convention Center and on one side of the hall Bill gives a speech to the NAACP. Then on the other side of the hall Bill gives a speech to the KKK. Upon leaving the convention center he would have both groups thinking that he is one of theirs"

Hillary wants to be like that but she is not nearly as smooth as Bill.
Trust is the main factor in who I want to be President. I do not TRUST Hillary at all. She has a "convenient" answer for all her “miss-steps” even if it happens to be a lack of recall.

There are few people in this world that I really do not like and Hillary is one of those people. If you thought Bill was a political schemist you have not seen anything. Hillary is the power person in the Clinton family. When Bill was defeated as Governor in 1980 it was her that had Bill join the choir in the largest Baptist Church (which also had televised services each Sunday morning). She changed her mind and her last name to Clinton. As one of her finest moments they had Chelsea right before the 1982 election.

Aside from her Rose Law position, she and Bill have never, as adults, worked in the private sector. They have never owned a house (not counting the one they bought with contributions in NY) Her whole life has been as a part of the government and she does not know anything else.

I think Hillary would be one of the WORST people that we could have as President.

I would go back to give more fact and figures to this, but I am playing by the rules. If you want more details, let me know and I will provide them.
