Slide-Slides-Slides KenGrill Recreation has ordered 2 tubes slides. We expect to receive the slides in early June. The large 6 foot tube slide we plan to have operational by the end of June. The kiddie slide is portable and we hope to have that operational by mid-June
Diving Boards Our 2 Diving Boards have been shipped back to Duraflex in Nevada to be reconditioned. Not only will we have 2 diving boards up this summer, but they will support our new Diving Team. We will continue to use the single diving board until the new ones are installed.
Alvernia College Improvements Alvernia has made great improvements to our facilities. To name a few are complete catch fencing around the basketball and volleyball courts, additional lighting, tree trimming and flood light repairs. Thanks Alvernia!
Swim Team This will be KenGrill Recreations 2nd year of the Gators. Our swim team was started by some very helpful volunteers/members last year. This year, we will have 2 magnificent Wilson graduates coaching our swim team with a possible partnership with Camp Adahi. Look for more information and sign ups coming!
Diving Team A very successful Wilson diver has accepted the position of Diving coach. This remarkable diver will be starting a diving team for us this summer. Again, look for more information and sign ups coming!
Spring Setup There is lots of pressure washing, painting and concrete plastering to do before opening day. We will hopefully be advertising painting dates if you are interested in coming down and helping us paint. If you do come and paint, you are more than welcome to write your families names on the bottom of the pool somewhere for them to find this summer! Kids love it!
Advertising If you or any company you know is interested in advertising on our fence, the cost is $300 per year. We have 5 sponsors now and their support helps members in many ways from activity funding to supplies. Email us for a flyer explaining the program.

Property tax efforts With the help of Attorney Allan Kauffman, Reading PA, the Ken-Grill Recreation Center has filed for and attended several hearings pertaining to property tax relief. Using a certified appraisal of our two properties at 730 High Blvd., we have won a reduction in property taxes. We are currently awaiting a final decision on tax exemption on our properties. Reducing certain costs in the organization is our priority, and we hope to focus your funds in other areas. We would like to thank Mr. Kauffman for his donation of time and effort to the Ken-Grill Recreation Center.
Alvernia improvements Alvernia University has an interest in using our Sports Deck for their students intramural activities while their campus undergoes expansion. We are in the process of negotiating a partnership with Alvernia University that includes upgrades to the basketball area. Look for new fencing and upgraded lighting in the Basketball area soon. Alvernia University has played a crucial role in helping our organization.
New manager Ken-Grill Recreation is in the process of reviewing applicants to manage the pool for the 09 Season. We have found some very qualified and dedicated candidates and we are excited for the change and discipline we hope to bring to the 09 season with these potential applicants.
