Advanced 420 Clinics
Advanced 420 clinics are available for any organization in the Northeast during the summer and
in the South during January and February. A typical clinic is one or two days but some elite clinics
are as long as four days. A one day clinic normally runs as follows:
- Land demonstration of tuning, trimming, and technique for skipper and crew
- Explanation of the morning drills
- On-the-water drills with coaching
- Lunch break
- Chalk talk on strategy, tactics, and rules
- On-the-water drills and racing with coaching
- De-brief ashore re: racing, drills, future goals and other important lessons.
Clinics can focus on club 420 fleet racing (with spinnaker and trapeze) or team racing. Some clubs may wish to schedule an evening seminar for the adults (see rules, tactics & team racing seminars).
Summer rates are $450/day plus $50 for driving expenses within 100 miles. Discounts are provided for additional days or evening seminars at the same club.
