KEN LEGLER

Race Management

Ken is a highly sought Principal Race Officer for major sailing championships. Ken was trained in race management at the US Sailing Center in upstate New York in 1974 and was immediately recognized as a skillful race manager with the ability to run fair and efficient races. In 1975 Ken was selected PRO for the International 470 class World championship in their pre-Olympic year. In addition to countless college regattas and practice races, Ken currently runs about three major regattas per year and the events he runs demonstrate the diversity of this sport. Ken’s race management style is to open the lines of communication to the class and the competitors; he understands the fine line between fair and fun.
