Kenneth Wacks - Papers

Building Automation Systems

The Canadian Government retained Dr. Wacks to develop the Best-Practices Guide for Evaluating Intelligent Building Technologies. The objective of the Guide is to encourage the installation of subsystems (lighting, security, HVAC, power management, etc.) that can interoperate in order to enhance services available to building managers and tenants.  This work was organized by CABA, the Continental Automated Buildings Association.

CABA is a non-profit trade association providing Canada, Mexico, and the United States with information on the home and building automation industries. CABA publishes a quarterly magazine, iHomes & Buildings, for which Dr. Wacks has been writing a column, "Ken Wacks' Perspectives," since 1992.

The Best Practices Guide builds upon the Intelligent Buildings Technology Roadmap, previously developed by CABA with Canadian government sponsorship. Dr. Wacks was an advisor on this roadmap.

Standards Activities
