Kent Pearson is a veteran guitarist from the South Eastern U.S. With family roots in south-central Georgia, he spent his time growing up in Florida's Jacksonville and, later, Tampa Bay areas. It was there that he formed his first band, The Lovin' Kind, at the age of fourteen and after playing guitar for just one month. Shortly after, Kent played with Tampa Bay's premier "psychedelic" rock act, The Ravens. Under the management of regional concert promoter, A.J. Perry, and an ever-changing lineup consisting of some of the area's best musicians, The Ravens opened for virtually every major act to play Tampa Bay during the mid to late 1960's, including The Who [their first U.S. "Herman's Hermits" tour] and The Yardbirds with Jimmy Page [Faulk Theater, Tampa, Aug. '68], The Hollies, Neil Diamond and Sonny and Cher. In 1970, after a breif excursion working as an assistant to Jimi Hendrix's personal tailor, Kent moved to Boston in order to immerse himself in a more "urban" musical environment.

Since that time, Kent has played with artists which include The Allman Brothers Band, Little Joe Cook, The Outlaws, Bumps Blackwell, (Little Richard's producer and co-writer of his biggest hits), Cheap Trick, Leslie West, Jon Butcher Axis, Charlie Farren, The Searchers and others. [See "Timeline" on Kent's "official" home page for more details]

October of 2004 saw Kent's return to Florida, who says, "I simply couldn't survive another winter up there in that kind of cold! It's great to be back in Florida. I'm having a ball, playing a lot and finding all my old friends, as well as making a bunch of new ones!"

Currently Kent can be seen and heard, at a variety of venues, playing the blues jams in Tampa or St. Petersburg on the warm Florida nights - when he's not out on a boat in the Gulf or on the bay, fishing and catchin' some rays, that is!

Stay tuned for site updates!
