My loving sister

I weep as I write this at the unexpected, unexplained sudden loss of my sister. A truly beautiful person, so giving in every way. The void is so deep, the ache so painful. She was my champion supporter, confidente and close friend who never let me down. I was so blessed to have you!

Below is some excerpts from a letter my sister Kriste and I wrote to Karen and read at her service.

Dear Karen,

We wanted to write a letter to say thank you! Thank you for being a wonderful big sister, we were so lucky to have you in our lives. Growing up like all families with 2 pesky little sisters, we had our moments, fights where we screamed at each other, you disciplining us when we wouldnt listen when mom and dad were away, us going into your room to snoop when you werent there, but the good times there were so, so many.....

.....as we got older, you met your husband, Charlie, fell in love and you were so happy! You two were connected at the hip and each others best friends. After mom passed, you stepped into some really big shoes but you kept your promise to her to take care of everything. We relied on you for guidance in alot of things in life and you had an answer and support in making any decisions. You always knew what to do.....

....you gave 110% into everything you did, whether is be your work managing 3 depts at the hospital, teaching at the college or working on your masters. We are so proud of all you accomplished!

.....You touched so many lives and will be so sorely missed! We dont know why God called you back so soon but we believe you are reunited with Mom, are in peace and you both are watching over us.

We love you and miss you - You are the best big sister anyone could of asked for!

Love Kriste and Kelli

"Did you ever know that your my hero? You’re everything I would like to be. I can fly higher than an eagle, cause you are the wind beneath my wings."

It might of appeared to go unnoticed, but I got it here all in my heart.

I want you to know I know the truth, of course I know it, I would be nothing without you.

Thank you, thank you, thank God for you, the wind beneath my wings.
