![]() Angel Food Ministries is a non-profit, non-denominational organization dedicated to providing grocery relief and financial support to communities throughout the United States. The program began in 1994 with 34 families in Monroe, Georgia (between Atlanta and Athens), and has grown to serve hundreds of thousands of families every month across 35 states. Angel Food Ministries crosses denominational lines and has spread the good news of the gospel of Christ through salvation tracts that are placed in each food order. By buying food from first rate suppliers at substantial volume discounts, Angel Food Ministries is able to provide families with approximately $65 worth of quality nutritious food for $30. ARTS MINISTRIES Flags, as well as banners, are used in worship to exalt Jesus and His name before men. They may also declare our redemption through Jesus and His Blood. They also serve to invite and usher in the presence of Holy Spirit. The
flag makes a proclamation before heaven and earth,
through the one raising the flag, In
worship, the flag may be speaking the heart of the people
toward God, or God's heart Psalm 149:3 & 4- "Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp. For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation." Psalm 150:4 - "Praise him with the timbrel and dance." These
are perhaps the clearest biblical references that put
dance in the context of praise. Dance in worship is not a new concept.Humans have always communicated their religious questions and expressions in the language of gesture and dance. While the forms may have changed, dance still serves to unite people to one another and to God. Liturgical dance today entails more than gestures or movements.A choir of dancers, or soloists, trained and rehearsed in a language of liturgical movement serves as a vehicle through which Gods presence may be apprehended.Worshipers accustomed to oral and mental involvement in worship will have to develop the capacity not only to look and see, but also to receive the dance kinesthetically. The dance as liturgy ispresented to invite and involve the congregation, serving as a window through which, "one thing is seen, but something else is understood." " The dancers ability to shape movements into patterns, symbols and images allows the dance to be an expressive, interpretive and reflective art. |
