About Me

This is what I'd rather be doing -- operating an SD45!  Fergus Falls, Minnesota, Monday, July 18, 2005 during the GNRHS convention.  I'm at the throttle of GN #400 "Hustle Muscle".  http://www.gnrhs.org/fergus_falls2.htm

In addition to this ongoing project known as Obscure Train Movies, I am also webmaster for the following two sites:

Great Northern Railway Page   http://www.gngoat.org
Great Northern Railway Historical Society   http://www.gnrhs.org

My wife's name is Baolu.  She was born in Shanghai, China, and is now a U.S. citizen.  Baolu loves the 4449 steam engine and has been known to accompany me on local trainspotting trips.  Here we are riding behind 4449 and 844 at Everett, WA on Saturday, May 19th, 2007.  http://www.gngoat.org/4449_on_the_gn.htm
I work at a local building products company as a computer technician.  I have lived in the Pacific Northwest for over 30 years and still enjoy getting out and railfanning the old Great Northern mainline through Stevens Pass.

I grew up in West Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada in the 1960's which was a wonderful place for a kid to be.  Many summer days, David Hamilton and I would ride our bikes down to Dunderave, over to Ambleside, Park Royal or even clear out to North Vancouver and the area's only McDonalds!  I moved back to the States in 1970, but I've always had a soft spot for West Van.

BTW...if anyone knows what happened to Dave Hamilton, please drop me a line at obscuretrainmovies@verizon.net.  We lost touch in 1974 and the last I heard, his family moved to Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.  He was a great kid and I'm just wondering what happened to him.
