Participants in the web-based Wine Lovers' Discussion Group occasionally meet for dinner in various cities around the world. Sometimes they meet because a member is visiting from another area, sometimes a wine-related event (like the Boston Wine Expo) prompts the gathering, and sometimes it's just a convenient excuse to taste excellent wines. I have attended some of the New England (Massachusetts/New Hampshire/Connecticut) gatherings, and I think you'll find the tasting notes to be very interesting reading.
'00 -- Possibly the best lineup yet,
with wines spanning 4 continents and 23 years in age.
September '99 -- More than 20 interesting wines, ranging in age from Quinta do Noval '70 to Pride Mountain Cabernet Franc '97.
June '99 -- Another formidable lineup of wines, including a 1976 Furst von Metterich Schloss Johannisberg Riesling Auslese.
