Picnic
Reservations in the Pavilions
Members and Seasonal Campers only
Want to reserve a picnic in one of the
pavilions? Read our policies below.
The Pavilions
Here at
Lake Kandle we have two Pavilions available for picnic reservation. They are
simply referred to as the Small and Large pavilion. The small pavilion is
located next to the volleyball court and is reserved as a whole, whereas the
large pavilion is divided into two sections, the front section (facing lake)
and back section (borders pool parking lot).
Each
pavilion/ section is set-up with trash receptacles, picnic tables, and a large
charcoal grill. Picnics are encouraged to grill their own food, order pizza
from outside vendors, or even have the picnic catered.
If
you’re looking to store a cake in a cool space, you may leave your cake in the
office. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee storage for ice cream cakes or other
frozen treats. Ice cream, of course, can be purchased from the snack bar.
Rules, Policies, and Fees
Picnics
are strictly limited to 35 non-member guests (members attending don’t count
toward the limit) and must be approved by the office staff. A deposit for half
of the expected guest count is needed to reserve a date (no raindates will
be reserved). No additional fee is needed to use the pavilion, just the $8
guest fee, per guest. The remaining balance is to be paid by the member by
closing time on the day of the picnic. In the event that we are collecting
directly from guests, we will refund your deposit after all your guests have
arrived. If canceling, please do so before 11AM on the date of your picnic to
receive a refund. Refunds will not be issued for undesirable weather
conditions, so we advise you to check the weather conditions the night before or
morning of the picnic to determine whether to go or not.
Lake
Kandle will not host picnics for churches, school field trips, or
daycares. Picnics should be reserved for small family gatherings, birthday
parties, and graduation parties whereby the member is the sole host
of the event. Dealings will not be conducted with 3rd parties or non-members.
If
you are reserving a pavilion, please educate guests on Lake Kandle's safety
rules and polices prior to arrival. As a host, you are responsible for your
guests’ actions. Thank you and happy picnicking!
