This site is dedicated primarily to WWII and earlier Chelsea Clocks. I've posted many photos showing details of the wonderful design and construction of these fine American made timepieces. The sputtered gold plate movements are precision made to watchmaker's tolerances. The cases are cast bronze or brass. Some cases are copper or nickel plated. Movements and cases were designed and constructed to withstand decades of use in harsh marine environments. All clock sizes reflect the dial diameters, the typical method Chelsea uses to indicate clock size. They are perhaps the best example of clock engineering and construction from the early 1900's, not to mention the aesthetic pleasure they still bring.
