Rep. Tim Holden, D-Schuylkill, chose to put big developers and big special interests
before our country's magnificent wildlife heritage with his vote in favor of harmful legislation that would severely weaken
the Endangered Species Act -- an incredibly successful law that has saved the bald eagle, grizzly bear, Florida manatee and
many other species -- from extinction.
People in Pennsylvania understand that it doesn't make sense to gamble with our precious wildlife, and Holden's
vote is a disappointment for all of us. Now it's up to Sens. Arlen Specter and Rick Santorum to defend the Endangered Species
Act and stop this shortsighted legislation.
