The Alarishi Empire controls three M stars, plus the associated planetary, planetoid, cometary and Oort bodies around them. None of the planets are habitable, but the Empire has many small colonies on the gas giant moons and in asteroids and artificial habitats. The name Alarishi is believed to derive from al-Arish, a city the ancient Israelites passed through on their way from Egypt to the Promised Land. The other systems are named after legendary cities or mythical lands.

The capital city is located on the moon of a brown dwarf which orbits at 7.9 lightminutes from the primary of the Alarishi system. The ruins of New Lisboa, the original capital and site of a pyrrhic victory over a FSE task force, are in orbit around Coronado. Huy Braseal is the home of most of the more exotic sovereignities, including Forward Power's antimatter production facilities.

Alarish claims control of the G5 star with the habitable planet Cibola. Also involved are the United Nations, the Islamic Federation, the Pan African Union, the Eurasian Solar Union, and three colonies on the planet. All parties claim to have to have exclusive rights to the system. Dirtside, there is an ongoing, multilateral, low intensity war, with occasional battalion and brigade level actions. The Empire has committed a few special forces teams but has otherwise avoided ground combat, concentrating on space resources. Many AE-based mercenaries find employment there, however.

The Alarishi Empire has also surveyed other M stars in the area and could, in theory, argue with the Oceanic Union about ownership if there was a point.
