Hudak's Hooligans are a mercenary company, registered but not bonded with the Mercenary Guild. They have a reputation of being tough fighters, but inclined to pillage and quite callous about civilian casualties. The company was last known to be in service with the PAU. Allegations of the use of nerve gas have not been proved.
The Hooligan commander, a self-promoted major called Csaba Hudak, began his military career with the NAC where he was a supply sergeant until he was discharged amidst accuations of black market trading. After a year with the Romanov Hegemony army, he deserted to take up with Teske's Raiders, a mercenary unit based in New Austin. During the defense of Murrayville, Hudak's unit apparently killed several local women and children; media reports of this incident touched off rioting which resulted in the deaths of all the Raider officers and over 160 civilians, plus over 70MUCr of damages. Hudak and the remainder of his unit blasted their way out of the city. He promoted himself to commanding officer, reformed his unit as Hudak's Hooligans, and entered a succession of short-term contracts.
The Hooligan logistics unit prefers to obtain materiel by informal means, so their equipment is varied. The average soldier is wears d6 body armor and carries a FP2/d10 personal weapon, but more experienced soldiers--those who've had more opportunity to loot--usually manage to upgrade to d8 armor. The official squad support weapon is a d8/d10 SAW, but plasma guns and flamers are popular as well, and almost every trooper has an IAVR or two. Despite their well-deserved reputation for wanton theft and destruction, the Hooligans can fight well. Major Hudak rates as Vet1. His troops have leadership 2 or 3, with 30% Veteran, 50% Regular, and 20% Green.
It should be noted that the actual TO does not match the official TO, and rarely does either one match the advertising sheets handed to potential employers.
Designer's Notes: The Hooligans are based one unfortunate incident--there were several--which occurred during the Friday Night Firefight at GZG ECC IV. Mike Hudak asserts that those civilians should have known better than to get between his unit and that APC; that the riots were instigated by the news crew; that the massacres and looting certainly were not his fault; that he had nothing to do with shooting down that medevac chopper; and that he really is aware that "ECC" does not stand for "Extra Crispy Civilians."
