Welcome to San Pedro. Fido's Restaurant and Dock is the headquarters of the Island Water Taxi for the island. When you take a scheduled water taxi from any of the taxi stops, this is where you dock in town. Of course, for a little more, you can order your own water taxi to pick you up on any dock on the Caye and take you to any other dock or pier. Almost every resort and restaurant has it's own pier or dock. |

On the far left is BC's beach bar where the Belizean motto - "No shirt, no shoes, no problem" - is very evident. The center picture shows one of the three main streets in town before they were paved with pavers. The far right shows one of the supermarkets in town. You'll notice it is on a paved street. Below are a few of the local buildings and shops in town. These were taken right before election day so you notice the election banners around town. |

Ambergris Caye is truly an island. You're surrounded by water and water views wherever you go. Almost everywhere there are docks and piers everywhere for the various resorts, restaurants, dive and tour locations. |

 This sign is on the Sundiver Resort (now named the Mata Grande Studios and Resort) about 100 foot down the beach from our villa. They have a recording studio there and it is a stop for the Island Water Ferry. |

This is a picture of a casita down the beach from our villa. Casitas are fairly common and many homes have one or two on their property in addition to the main house. |
This is a picture of a covered water taxi. They run both covered and open taxis depending upon the weather. This is the transportation the children use to get to school. |
