I have been photographing Kim for many years. During that time I have made thousands of exposures. Photography plays many roles from preservation of a special moment to an exposure made purely on impulsive---out of joy or indifference, both having unique power and value. I see my life with the camera in ways I am unable to recognize without it.

Kim has generously put up with this work which I am sure is not easy at times to be a participant and subject. I have tried to imagine it as a collaboration of some kind, but it is more a guarded acceptance on her part and as mindful an intrusion as possible.
